Season 12 Production - Day 78 {9.28.18}:

It's the second-last day of filming for Heartland season 12 and production if off to a bit of a late start today after doing some night shots yesterday. Today Heartland films at the studio. 🎥💡🎥

There are only 4 scenes being captured today on season 12's penultimate day of filming. A lot of the cast are on set, especially for the first two scenes. 😎 🙂👍🏼🙂

Now that all the horse characters are wrapped for the year it may be a while before they are seen again on a Heartland set. 🙁🐴🐎🐴

This was taken last night on set. There's one more day of filming to go on Monday. Next week, be sure to look for cast and crew interview photos from today. 😁❤️😎

Season 12 Production - Day 60 {9.4.18}:

It's bright and early at the ranch set, with 5 scenes from episode 1209 and 1 scene from 1210 to be filmed with 11 days left in this block. It's also back to work and back to school for many Canadians! 😎

The first scene of the day is one of the shorter scenes, with Georgie (@alijnewton) and Kim (@Care_) but being as there is stunt work and horses (including Phoenix) it is going to take two hours to film. 🐴🙂🐴

Over the seasons Greg Lawson as Clint Riley has arrived at Heartland with someone that has had a big impact on the series. He's back on set right now, acting in the only scene from episode 1210 being filmed today. 😎👍🏻😎

Three of the last four scenes (all from episode 1209) take place in the barn and feature Amy (@Amber_Marshall) and Ty (@graham714) applying their holistic and veterinary skills to a horse in need. 👍🏻🐴👍🏻

Today's last two scenes, which will finish up filming at the ranch this block, also have Heartland's patriarch, Jack Bartlett (@The_Real_ShaunJ) in them. He has more than a passing interest in the horse being treated in episode 1209. 😎🐴😳

And that's a wrap at the ranch for today. The forecast for tomorrow calls for mainly sunny skies with a high of 21°C, though it'll be chilly in the morning when the Fans as Extras Day begins. It should be a lot of fun... more tweets then! 😎👍🏻😎

Season 12 Production - Day 76 {9.26.18}:

Production has started a little later than usual as we work through shooting the very last episode of Heartland season 12. There are 6 scenes being filmed today and Georgie (@alijnewton) is in 5 of them. 👍🏼😎👍🏼

Cooler, wetter weather is looming where Heartland is filmed but, yesterday was a perfect day to be filming Heartland. It was even nicer with Chris Potter on location! 👍🏼🐴😎🐴

On set today: @madisoncheeatow playing Jade, @DempseyBryk playing Wyatt and @thelisadurupt playing Jen. There are also 35 background extras! 🙂👍🏼🙂

Season 12 Production - Day 75 {9.25.18}:

The 4th day filming the last episode of season 12 has begun. There are seven scenes to film today, the first featuring Amy (@Amber_Marshall) & Ty (@graham714). This episode will see some very important decisions made. 🤔🙂👍🏼🙂

On location today: Amy (@Amber_Marshall), Ty (@graham714), Jack (@The_Real_ShaunJ), Tim (Chris Potter), Lou (@MichelleMorgan_) and Georgie (@alijnewton). And horses - lots of horses. 🐴😁🐴

In a scene being filmed today, Tim (Chris Potter) has a conversation with Jack (@The_Real_ShaunJ) you would never have imagined him having as little as two seasons ago. 😳😎👍🏼😎

This morning: This is where the circus is today. The 'circus includes the star trailers, equipment, makeup/hair truck, costume truck, AD office, water/fuel trucks and transport vans. A rather picturesque setting, wouldn't you agree?🍁🎥🍁

Today is great day to be filming on location. It's both warm & cloudless. Note the snow on the Rockies... That's not likely to vanish as the colder weather will return soon.😎🍁😎

That's a wrap for today. The drivers and crew are again pulling stakes to move to tomorrow's location. Fall arrived a couple of days ago but today is the only day with the same amount of daylight as night time. Rose: 7:27am; set: 7:27pm. 🌞🍁🙂🍁

Season 12 Production - Day 61 [Fans-as-Extras Day] {9.5.18}:

Day 5 of block 5 has just started and all scenes today are from episode 1109. Filming is taking place on location. It’s Fans as Extras Day and it looks like 0% (zero percent) chance of rain. Just what was hoped for! 😎👍🏼😎

As the hundreds of faithful fans were signed in and seated for their big scene - the 2nd scene of the day - a 1st scene with Georgie (@alijnewton), Lou (@MichelleMorgan_) and Kim (@Care_) was being filmed. 🙂🎥🙂

The Fans as Extras are having a great time watching the scenes being shot. They are all needed for 3 scenes today and in 2 of those scenes both Amy (@Amber_Marshall) and Peter (@Hoganfilm) will be appearing. 🙂🎥🙂

When not needed in scenes today as Amy, @Amber_Marshall addressed the many fans who came out to be a part of the day. Last year it was Shaun Johnston (@The_Real_ShaunJ) on horseback doing the honours when he wasn't needed as Jack.🐴👍🏼🐴

Though her character - Kim Price - has not yet been seen on Heartland, the fans who showed up as extras today gave Caroline Palmer (@Care_) a warm reception when she spoke to them. Watch for her when season 12 premieres this winter! 😎👍🏼😎

It was indeed another great day of filming Heartland with hundreds of fans as extras. One couldn't ask for a sunnier day. When the cameras were not rolling the cast spoke to the fans! Good night all! More production tweets tomorrow. 👍🏼😁👍🏼

Season 12 Production - Day 67 {9.13.18}:

Filming has started for today! There are 5 exterior scenes, all from episode 1209, and it will total less than 4 minutes of screen time. It is unseasonably cold today, with a 60% chance of flurries and freezing drizzle. ☔️😐🌧

On set today will be Jack (@The_Real_ShaunJ) on Buddy, Tim (Chris Potter) on Champ and Mitch (@kevin_mcGarry) on Maverick. They will have the pleasant company of 50 head of cattle in most scenes. 🐴🙂🐴

Producer Dean Bennett is extremely busy. Aside from keeping an eye on the filming of the current block, he is also preparing to direct episode 1211, which starts filming next week. 🎥🙂🎥

Whenever Jack (@The_Real_ShaunJ), Tim (Chris Potter) & Mitch (@kevin_mcGarry) get together and talk business they are often divided on tactics & opinions. When that happens it is 2 against 1, but the 2 may not always be right. 👍🏼🤔👎🏼

Season 12 Production - Day 70 {9.18.18}:

The second last day of block 5 has started. There are six scenes to film, all exterior and near a river bank. The forecast is the same as yesterday - CHILLY! But maybe the sun will find a way to warm things up...😎👍🏼😎

All six scenes to be filmed today take place near a river bank and will appear in the middle of ep. 1210. Five of these scenes have Heartland stunt coordinator Tom Eirikson present to make sure the action happens exactly as planned. 👍🏼🙂👍🏼

Tim (Chris Potter) is not in any scenes today but here he is, yesterday, on the same location where the crew is filming today. It's always so much nicer filming outdoors when the sun is out! 👍🏼🌞👍🏼

It's been four heavy days for Shaun Johnston as Heartland's patriarch, Jack Bartlett. He's been in almost every scene. Tomorrow, filming will move to a location much closer to Calgary and Jack will only appear in the very last scene. Whew!🙂🐴🙂

Another successful day of filming is complete. Most of the crew will be heading home, but the transportation team will be driving all the work trucks and rigs to tomorrow's location. Tomorrow is the last day of this block. More tweets then. 🎥🙂🎥

Season 12 Production - Day 73 {9.21.18}:

Day 2 of filming episode 1211 has begun. There are 6 scenes to be shot and 10 characters on set including Amy (@Amber_Marshall), Jack (@The_Real_ShaunJ), Lou (@MichelleMorgan_), Ty (@graham714), Georgie (@alijnewton) & Tim (Chris Potter). 🙂🎥🙂

If their first scene was the 3rd scene of the day, most cast would be arriving to work a little later, but it's September, so Alisha Newton (@alijnewton) has 2 hours of school before she becomes Georgie for the two scenes she is in today. 🙂👍🏼🙂

This was taken on set today. That's Producer/Director Dean Bennett on the left. Notice how everyone is dressed. The area has been chilly for over a week now. It Definitely doesn't look like the last day of summer. 😳🎥😳

In the background of the last production tweet you may have spotted Greg Lawson, who is back in a big way in season 12 as Clint Riley. Greg says he is having a blast this year. Here's a better look at him. 😎👍🏼😎
