Hey Maddie! Sorry to bother you but I was just wondering if you could share with me a little about how and when you first got into photography and how that merged into capturing live performances. It's definitely something I've been thinking a lot about lately but I literally know nothing about cameras and all that so I think it'd be helpful to learn where a fellow pilot started out. (: thankyou in advance!

I’ve always had a love for photography since I was little. It wasn’t until my sophomore year of highschool and I took Photography 1 when I started taking it seriously. Now I’m a senior and I’m in Photo 3. I’ve found through all of the projects I’ve done, that I have a love for portraits. People are the most interesting to me. Since I also have a strong passion for music, live concert photography is what I decided I would like explore. 

I try to bring a camera to every show I go to, even if it’s just a point and shoot because of the venue policy. At TOP’s Cleveland show in November, I was front row and got a lot of awesome shots. Lately, I’ve been really inspired to start capturing more shows. Luckily, I was blessed with the opportunity to shoot TOP’s hometown shows. This will be my first time with a photo pass and I’m beyond excited. This will help me build a great concert photography portfolio that I can use later on to shoot more shows. 

Right now, I don’t have the greatest camera in the world, so I’m saving all of my money this summer to invest in a better camera and lenses so I can get some great shots (and not look like a dick in the photo pit with the pros) 

I’m still fairly new at this but I’m excited to see where this takes me.

That being said, if you hadn’t walked up to me, I would not have enjoyed Starship as much as I did, because you helped make waiting in line fun and gave me someone new to meet. And I never would have made such an amazing friend whom I love very dearly :3
