The Cullens are little tiny vampire babies. Even Carlisle’s like, a tween, at best. I used some of the Volturi in the guide who had both an approximate birth date and a rough age-at-change. You can easily see how minuscule and insignificant their human lives are to the totality of their existence compared to the younger Cullen vamps.
Okay, this should be ~correct now, inasmuch as running word searches on a folder of PDFs can be correct. All of the Cullens made the top 20, even poor neglected Esme. Renesmee made it despite only existing for half of a book. Four humans made it: Charlie, Mike, Billy, and Jessica. Two Volturi made it: Aro and Jane. Five shapeshifters made it: Jacob, Sam, Seth, Leah and Quil.
Aro is the clear winner here, with Jane in second place, then Caius. I checked the Marcus numbers like 4 times because I couldn’t believe he was mentioned only 29 times but I got the same result every time. I didn’t include the Guide when tallying it up because that would have skewed the results, this is how many times their names appear in the actual series: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, Bree Tanner, and the Midnight Sun draft. Aro is mentioned almost as much as Esme (323), and more than Leah, Renee, and Angela (see this post for the other stats)
And there’s everyone else! Denalis, Egyptian & Irish, South American (Amazons + Nahuel and Huilen), Nomads, and Romanians. Really puts into perspective how little time we had to get to know a lot of these visiting vampires. Mary and Randall are only mentioned by name 5 times.
In honor of Edward's birthday, here is a visual representation of the Cullens' ages as of the end of Breaking Dawn (New Year's Day 2007). The blue represents the length of their human life The red represents the length of their vampire life The blue + red represents their total lifespan. It's interesting to see how even the blue looks across the board, and how different Carlisle, Bella and even Jasper's total ages are compared to the rest.
