we were about to trail somebody and égil rolled rly well on stealth right before van'izad could help with some juicy insider directions. dm was like 'hey we can retcon!' and i said 'no...no van gives directions, and egil fully doesn't need them but listens anyway'

If his heart were to waver? How would Kennen react if he were to know that it already had, many times over? He never disclosed that to any soul, lest they see him as anything less than the paragon of impartiality he had to be. Shen had nothing in the way of a friend or a confidant. There was only him, those that shared his burden, and the world he was chosen to watch. His life was lonely, but he did not feel the weight of it. There was no room for it in him. He would have never thought to reveal his wavering to Kennen out of all, or Akali for that matter, at least not in the present. There had been a time where it might have been possible. When the two were jovial and close , laughter in their chest and many words between them. He had forgotten them , the memory so marred by the tragedies so close to its heels. There was an unsteadiness in him, a breath that arrived a second late. The loneliness he thought he had not bore felt alleviated at Kennen’s offer , at his simple kind words. Even so, he understood with a sedated melancholy, that he could never fall fully into his kindness and still maintain the steady equilibrium he had built in himself. He stirred, “Yes, Kennen” a rare small smile found him, “we are.” this much he would allow himself.
