[ENG] What guitars are you currently using? Which one is your favourite?

Moritz: I'm using a Reverend Warhawk 390. It has 3 P90 pick ups and it sounds pretty sweet. I really love Reverend guitars. You should check them out.

Alex: Hi! Currently I am using a Fender Jaguar Classic Player in the Sunburst colorway with two humbucker pickups. The guitar is really cool. It's my first Fender guitar and I love it. With the special humbucking pickups you can vary in sound and the sunburst colorway is just classic. For my other band ANGST I play an Epiphone Les Paul which sounds pretty good for the low price it has.

Alex: Siema! Aktualnie gram na Fenderze Jaguar Classic Player w podpalanej wersji z dwoma humbuckerami. Gitara jest bardzo spoko. To mój pierwszy Fender i jestem bardzo zadowolony. Z tymi przystałkami można pokombinować aby uzyskać różne brzmienia a podpalany kolor to po prostu klasyk. W mojej drugiej kapeli ANGST gram na Epiphone Les Paul którzy brzmi całkiem dobrze jak na swoją niską cenę.

André: For TWIN RED I’m using a Reverend Double Agent. I got this one off eBay after my girlfriend accidentally broke my old Epiphone Les Paul. It was after this incident that I decided I wanted to play third guitar in my band. So I used the money I got from the insurance company to buy a new and better guitar. Once I saw the Reverend on the internet, I knew I had to get it and got lucky in the end. What I like about these guitars is that they are really rare in Europe. There is only one shop here in Germany that sells them (Taranaki Guitars) since Reverend is located in Ohio. I also have a Mannedesign Falcon M for another band I am in. It’s a metal guitar I got real cheap at a music store in Hannover. Though I have definitely played on better guitars, I still like this guitar. It looks pretty cool and sounds decent (plus, I can do the heaviest dive bombs on the planet with it).

André: W TWIN RED używam Reverend Double Agent. Dorwałem go na eBayu po tym, jak moja dziewczyna przypadkowo zepsuła mojego starego Epiphone Les Paula. Po tym incydencie zdecydowałem, że chcę grać jako trzecia gitara w zespole. Użyłem więc pieniędzy z ubezpieczenia aby kupić nową, lepszą gitarę. Kiedy zobaczyłem Reverenda w sieci, wiedziałem, że muszę go mieć i poszczęściło mi się. Co uwielbiam w tych gitarach, to to, że są bardzo rzadkie w Europie. W Niemczech jest tylko jeden sklep, który je sprzedaje (Taranaki Guitars), gdyż firma pochodzi z Ohio. Mam też Mannedesign Falcon M, na którym gram w drugim zespole. To gitara bardziej do metalu, kupiłem ją bardzo tanio w muzycznym w Hanowerze. Pomimo, że grałem na lepszych gitarach, dalej ją lubie. Wygląda fajnie i brzmi dość fajnie (no i mogę na niej robić najcięższe Dive Bomby na świecie).

What was your first guitar?

Moritz: My first guitar was a super cheap no-name Stratocaster in an ugly green tone – I hated it. My first „good guitar“ was an Epiphone SG.

Moritz: Moją pierwszą gitarą był super tani bezfirmowy Stratocaster w okropnym zielonym kolorze - nieznosiłem jej. Moją pierwszą lepszą gitarą był Epiphone SG.

Alex: I think it was a Washburn Stratocaster. Too bad I've sold it already...

Alex: To był chyba Washburn Stratocaster. Szkoda, że już go sprzedałem...

André: My first guitar was an Epiphone LP Junior. I got it for like 100$ at the guitar center in Detroit in 2008. I just sold it to a good friend of mine who wants to start playing guitar. The sound was surprisingly good. I only sold it so I could afford the Mannedesign guitar I mentioned before.

André: Moją pierwszą gitarą był Epiphone LP Junior. Kupiłem go za jakieś 100$ w gitarowym w Detroit w 2008. Odsprzedałem go niedawno koledze, który chce zacząć grać. Brzmi zadziwiająco dobrze. Sprzedałem go tylko, żeby kupić Mannedesigna o którym wspomniałem wcześniej.

What pedal effects are you using?

Jakich efektów gitarowych używasz?

Moritz: Currently I’m using an EHX Holy Grail for reverb/hall effects and Digidelay by Digitech for delays. My tuner is a Polytune 2 mini and the distortion comes direct out of my amp or pushed by my Red Witch Fuzzgod.

Moritz: Aktualnie używam EHX Holy Grail jako reverb/przestrzenny efekt i Digidelay od Digitech. Mój stroik to Polytune 2 mini a do przesterów używam brzmienia ze wzmacniacza lub Red Witch Fuzzgod.

Alex: Currently I am using a Maxon Tubescreamer to get some more distortion and crunch. Other pedals I am using are the TC Electronic Reverb, MXR Chorus and Electro-Harmonix Booster. Besides that, I try to use some Phaser and Flanger pedals for the new material more often.

Alex: Używam Maxon Tubescreamer dla mocniejszego, wyrazistego przesteru. Inne efekty to TC Electronic Reverb, MXR Chorus i Electro-Harmonix Booster. Oprócz tego, próbuję wkradać phasera i flangera do nowego materiału.

André: I’m actually only using a small fraction of the pedals I have. I really like collecting them. On my pedalboard I have the PolyTune 2 mini. Alex and Mo are using it as well and we love the way it works. It’s very colorful and bright which helps using it in the dark. The reverbs are created by the Digitech Digiverb. It’s pretty much the cheapest pedal on my board. The pedal itself isn’t too bad at all though. It works fine the way I use it. Yet I’m sure that I’ll switch to another one at some point because the Digiverb takes away some of the sound. Recently I bought the Freeze by Electro Harmonix. Great pedal. As the name tells, it „freezes“ a tone played and holds it until you press the button again. I have a huge Electro Harmonix Small Clone chorus pedal on my board which I like to get rid off any time soon. The sound is perfect but it’s way too big for the board. Everytime I use it, I almost trip over it. I boost my guitar tones with the MXR Micro Amp. The Micro Amp is perfect to add a little extra „urge“. The newest pedal I got is the Fulltone OCD. It’s an overdrive pedal. Since I run my amp completely clean I’m constantly on the search for different overdrive pedals. I hope that I will be happy with the OCD.

André: Tak na prawdę, to używam znikomej części efektów, które mam. Lubię je kolekcjonować. W pedalboardzie mam stroik PolyTune 2 mini. Alex i Mo też go mają i wszyscy jesteśmy bardzo zadowoleni. Jest kolorowy i jasny, co pomaga gdy jest ciemno. Pogłosy zawdzięczam Digitech Digiverb. To chyba najtańszy efekt w mojej kolekcji, chociaż wcale nie jest taki zły. Jak dla mnie starczy, chociaż raczej za jakiś czas go wymienię, gdyż Digiverb ujmuje trochę brzmieniu. Ostatnio kupiłem Freeze od Electro Harmonix. Świetny efekt. Jak nazwa wskazuje, “zamraża” dźwięk dopóki nie odklikniesz efektu. Mam sporego chorusa Electro Harmonix Small Clone, którego w sumie chętnie bym się pozbył. Brzmienie jest idealne, ale puszka jest za duża jak na mój pedalboard. Zawsze gdy go używam, niemal się potykam.

Your favourite amp/head? Why?

Twój ulubiony wzmacniacz? Dlaczego?

Moritz: I’m loving my EVH 5150 head, because it’s very versatile: from nice clean sounds to heavy stuff. But I’m not sure if this is my favourite or not. For me it works great but there are so many other good heads available on the market that makes the decision quite hard.

Moritz: Kocham swojego EVH 5150, ponieważ jest bardzo uniwersalny: od świetnego czystego brzmienia po ciężkie rzeczy. Ale nie jestem pewien, czy to mój faworyt czy nie. Jestem z niego zadowolony, ale na rynku jest tyle świetnych wzmacniaczy, co mocno utrudnia decyzje.

Alex: My favourite amp is the Marshall JCM 800, hands down. It's just a classic. It looks great, it has a sick sound and with the right pedals it is suitable for all kinds of music. It was the best decision to buy it and run into debts...

Alex: Mój ulubiony wzmacniacz to Marshall JCM 800, nie ma sobie równych. To klasyk. Wygląda świetnie, ma genialne brzmienie a przy odpowiednim doborze efektów daje rade przy każdym rodzaju muzyki. To była świetna decyzja, aby go kupić...i popaść w długi...

André: My favorite amp is the Fender Twin Reverb. I have never in my life heard a better sounding amp. If you like clean tones, this is the best you will get. I am currently using a Roland Jazz Chorus 120 made in Japan. I got the amp off eBay for a very very good price after I sold the amp I used before. The sound is amazing and gets pretty close to the Twin Reverb I think. Bands such as Metallica and Radiohead have used it before, so I thought „I’m pretty sure they know what they’re doing“ and bought the amp. Until this day I am not disappointed at all. The clean sound is overwhelming. The build-in chorus is the best chorus I have ever heard. Too bad I can’t use it live since I do every effect with my pedals...

André: Mój ulubieniec to Fender Twin Reverb. W życiu nie słyszałem lepszego wzmacniacza. Jeśli lubisz czyste brzmienie, to najlepsza decyzja. Aktualnie używam japońskiego Rolanda Jazz Chorus 120. Kupiłem go na eBayu za bardzo bardzo dobrą cenę po sprzedaży poprzedniego wzmaka. Brzmienie jest świetne, i dość zbliżone do Twin Reverba, tak mi się wydaje. Używały go zespoły takie jak Metallica i Radiohead, więc pomyślałem, że “oni chyba wiedzieli co robią” i go kupiłem. Do dziś anie razu się nie zawiodłem: czysty kanał jest świetny. Wbudowany chorus to najlepszy chorus jaki słyszałem. Szkoda, że nie mogę używać go na żywo, bo korzystam z efektów w kostkach...

What kind of guitar gear are you dreaming of?

O jakim sprzęcie marzysz?

Moritz: Actually I already have the gear of my dreams. 2 years ago I didn’t have a cab, a nice guitar or a pedalboard. I enjoy trying out new pedals and searching for cool sound combinations to upgrade my board.

Moritz: Właściwie to już mam wymarzony sprzęt. 2 lata temu nie miałem paki, dobrej gitary ani pedalboardu. Lubię wypróbowywać nowe efekty i szukać fajnych kombinacji brzmień aby ulepszać swój zestaw.

Alex: I'd love to have a Gibson Les Paul Standard someday or a 1960 Vintage Fender Stratocaster.

Alex: Chciałbym kiedyś mieć Gibson Les Paul Standard lub 1960 Vintage Fendera Stratocastera.

André: I’m more than happy with the gear I got. But when I close my eyes I see me playing through a Fender Twin Reverb. Also there is a guitar brand from Hannover called Duesenberg. A lot of their guitars look and sound amazing. Maybe I’ll buy one if them one day. But for now I’m content with what I go.

André: Jestem bardziej niż zadowolony ze swojego sprzętu. Ale gdy zamykam oczy, wyobrażam sobie granie na Fenderze Twin Reverb. Jest też gitarowa marka z Hanoweru - Duesenberg. Wiele z ich gitar brzmi i wygląda świetnie. Może kiedyś sobie którąś kupie. Ale na razie jestem zadowolony z tego co mam.
