Hi! You asked for routine tips, and I’ve found that one of the biggest things that helped me was to ignore “rules” about things like chores and organization. The biggest one being that things do NOT have to be “all or nothing”. Half the dishes is better than none. One load of laundry is better than none. It’s perfectly ok to let yourself jump from task to task, if that makes getting things done easier. Make small organizational changes to reduce the number of steps it takes to do things: putting dirty laundry in a bin with a lid requires the extra step of opening the lid, and if there’s anything on TOP of the lid that’s yet another one to remove it (as an example). As another example, keeping daily medication in a cabinet means having to remember that it exists in order to take it, keeping it on your desk means that you might notice it there, and therefore remember it (having alarms set is useful too, but sometimes I ignore them on accident, so the visual reminder is good to have). My desk probably looks like a mess to a lot of people because I don’t keep things in little containers or in drawers, I have a couple of little shelves where everything is out in the open, and I know where it all is and can just pick up what I need. It doesn’t look organized, but it is, because everything has its designated place, and I know what that place is even if others don’t. Basically, make things as easy and accessible for yourself as possible, try to think of what makes you avoid doing certain things, what the mental blocks are, and then try to get rid of those blocks, even if it’s not in a necessarily “normal” way. If you’re happy in your space and it’s functional for you, you’re doing it right.
I apologize that this got long, and turned into tips about organization instead of routine lol, but I personally find that they’re pretty interconnected, for me at least. Life became a lot easier when I let myself do things my own way. And long as the things that need to get done get done, the process can be whatever works for you. And don’t worry about it being perfect, or always keeping to an exact perfect schedule, if you don’t do something on the “right” day, it’s no big deal, it literally doesn’t matter to anyone but you unless it’s an outside deadline from work or school or something. If it’s chores, just do it now that you’ve remembered. No biggie. Be kind to yourself.
(Idk if any of this makes sense or actually helps, it’s just what works for me and your experience might be totally different. But I wish you the best regardless! And I understand the pain lol)
IM FURIOUSLY TAKING NOTES THANK YOU AND BLESS YOUR KIND SOUL!!!! I didn’t know if anyone would actually answer but so much of this makes SO MUCH SENSE OMGGGG
