Hello, there
Hi,
I want love to take this time to introduce myself. I've decided to throw my hat into the ring and try my hand at music blogging. For as long as I can remember, I have listened to what many have tagged as "emo" music. One might argue, isn't all music emotional? What makes these sad kids from the midwest more emo than the next band? I've played in a couple bands and the lyrics were pretty sad, is that emo?
I'm not in the business of genre naming. I'm not even really in the music business. I am in the business of writing my thoughts and feelings about new releases, classic tracks, shows I enjoy, interviews I conduct, and anything else that falls into this realm. I'm not the greatest writer. I'm not the greatest photographer. I hope to just show some people some tunes that I like and hopefully have it be an enjoyable experience for all.
The most important part of this post is this: the format. I would love to post regularly. However, life often gets in the way and that won't always be possible. I'd love to post daily. I probably won't. What I can do is the following:
Monday Listen: I'd love to start out the week with a post about something that I think you should listen to. This will include a bit about the band and then a post to their bandcamp/facebook/whatever so you can listen too.
Wednesday Review: Music usually comes out on Tuesdays. I will listen to nothing but a new release for that whole day. Front to back, side to side. I will get good an deep into the lyrics and the instruments. I'll then try to write what that album made me feel, what I heard. You'll then read it. Cool. If nothing comes out that Tuesday, I'll do something from the previous week that I forgot about. That will probably happen a lot.
Friday Wrap Up: I'll gather all the info I find during the week and make one big post some time on Friday. A nice little way to go into the weekend, right?
Concert Reviews: Concerts happen all the time. I'll write a little bit about them as they happen and post mostly pictures. I like getting up close so this should be fun.
Interviews: in the DIY nature of this scene, I'll do my best to reach out to whoever will respond to my emails and awkwardly ask them some questions. I think it could be pretty fun.
Gossip: there's always something happening in this scene, it seems. I'll do my best to write little bits about the big news. I'll keep it relevant. Probably nothing about Top 40 music here. Sorry...
So that's about it. I hope you enjoy and we can find some cool stuff together. Please don't hesitate to send me a message if you want. If you are in a band, send me your stuff. I'd love to write about it.
Onward,
-Pioneer.

This is the first time all of us played together and the fact it turned out this well still baffles and confuses me. The songs we played are called "Glad to Forget You" and "Trixie Tang" and they can be found here: https://soundcloud.com/achy-aches and will be part of an eventual LP release. Griffin: singysongy wordy poops and the stringy sizzle stick Jobybaby: Official QTVegan® of the group and 11-string guitarist (http://joeorjoseph.bandcamp.com/) Moses Walks: Residest Judaism/breakfast food expert and guitarist Alex "Blast" Troise: slappa da baes [does not beat women] (y-u-k-o-n.bandcamp.com) Matthew "Tank" Bergman: being famous/fabulous and banging shit a lot!!!!!! (http://mattequalstank.bandcamp.com) and also HE WAS IN ALGERNON CADWALLADER
