Twinsie Thursday - Spooky Glow-In-The-Dark Eyes...

Hello Lacquer Lovers!

Last month, Lothwen and I received a request to do glow in the dark manicures. Of course, we accepted the challenge! We decided to do some spooky glow in the dark eyes.

I started off with two coats of Rimmel London Black Satin. Using a dotting tool, I dotted pairs of eyes with an unnamed neon yellow Color Club. I used China Glaze Ghoulish Glow to make the yellow glow in the dark. To make the eyes look 'angry' I took a striping brush and painted two diagonal lines along the top. I finished the look off by adding the pupils.

Now, I must admit there we my technical difficulties. As you can see in the photo below, I could get a bottle shot of Ghoulish Glow, as the glow is so intense, but my nails would not show up on my camera to save my life! I guess in small amounts the glow is not intense enough. :( I could see them glowing, but my camera would not pick them up. It is very disappointing, as they looked super cool. You'll just have to take my word for it. ;)

As I writing this post, I haven't to see Lothwen's manicure. She always rocks Twinsie Thursday, so I bet they are amazing. You can head over to my blog to view her manicure!

Twinsie Thursday - Half Moon Manicure

Yaaay another twinsie thursday and I'm loving this one, our nails have never  looked more alike! <3 Check out Samantha's awesome manicure:  Hello Lacquer Lovers! 

It's Twinsie Thursday again! This month our theme was yellow with half moon nail art. Now, yellow is not a color I usually gravitate towards, but when Lothwen mentioned it, I was up for the challenge! I am really loving this look!

I started off with two coats of an unlabeled neon yellow Color Club. After it dried I free handed white half moons using a LA Colors Art Deco Striper in White. Then, I added in the black details with a LA Colors Art Deco Striper in Black. To finish up the look I added a clear rhinestone towards the bottom of the design.

Overall, I'm loving this look! It is different from most nail art I do and it is simple and fast! The nail art added three minutes to my manicure routine and gave my manicure some pizzazz!

Triplet Nails - Cats

Hello lovelies!

OK first of all, I kinda totally took the easy way out on this one, I just did not have time for proper nail art. The theme was animals this month and our class was mammals. So we had tooooo many options and hence decided on pets. And then we all had cats, so we settled on cats ;) OK I don't actually have a cat, but my parents do, so it counts ;) Here are my nails. 

OK so 'cats' do appear thrice in this mani. First and most obviously in the charm from ebay. But second of all, the polish I used is LynBDesigns "Cheshire Grin" from the Alice in Wonderland collection and as you all know, that's based on that nasty cat in there! At least I remember it to be nasty. It's been a while since I saw it.. but that cat sure creeped me out! To show my best intentions, I added some cat paws. Now all I have to do is take some sunlight pics tomorrow, and show you the beauty of this pretty ;) And please ignore that the charm has slipped down. It's stuck now. Nothing to be done. I'll add more pics tomorrow!

Twin Blog Post - May Flowers

Hello lovelies!

Time for this month's Twin Nails Collaboration post! We were odd-numbered, so we became a triplet! How fun :D Meet my triplet friends Nail Art Novice & The Dalai Lama's Nails :) This month's theme is flowers and we were assigned with roses. Since we'd done many rose manis already, we decided we'd wanna do them somewhat differently, so we went with a black-white-neon colour scheme. This is what I came up with:

I started with a base of Essie "Blanc" and then I sponged on some neon green from W7 and some neon yellow acrylic paint. The roses I painted with a nail art brush and black acrylic paint. 

What do you think? I'm still not sure.. Had to show my thumb though, I liked it best ;)

Twinsie Thursday - Nimbus Nails

Hello Lacquer Lovers!

Today Lothwen and I did nimbus twin nails, inspired by The Nailasaurus! This is a super fun look and I plan to try it in many colors for the perfect summer mani!

For this look I used a few different polishes- China Glaze Charmed, I'm Sure, Zoya Sailor, Zoya Ling, Sinful Colors Sugar Rush, and Color Club 131003. I started off with a white base. Then, I applied each polish, in the above order, after thinning them with acetone and applying them on a cotton swab/q-tip. 

I would highly recommend this nail art look to a novice or an old pro, as it is much different than normal manis!

Twinsie Thursday: Puzzles!

Hello lovelies!

Today I have a mani that is part of the Twin Nails Collaboration! This month's theme is colours and me and my Twin-for-the-month Gemma from My Adventures In Nail Art are doing Primary Colours. We decided to throw in a puzzle pattern too, for it is still Autism Awareness Month, so all that turned into this:

I used Essence "Fame Fatale" for the red, NYC "Lexington Yellow" for the, well, DUH, and HEMA no. 23 for the blue. The silver is Rimmel "Shooting Star". 

I started out by painting the different colours. Then I outlined them. With a dotting tool, I placed dots where the connecting bits are. Then I placed a slightly smaller dot of white in the middle of that, and then I painted that with the matching colour. I topped it all off with SV.

Twinsie Thursday - Easter Eggs!

Hello Lacquer Lovers!

It is Twinsie Thursday once again! With Easter on Sunday, Lothwen and I thought it was the perfect theme!

For this look, I used all of the Zoya Awaken Collection, minus Monet. Brooklyn, Hudson, Rebel, Dillion, Cole, and Dot were perfect for this look! I took a nail art brush and designed a different "Easter egg look" on each nail.

This was such an easy look to achieve and perfect for nail art beginners! It makes you practice some very important nail art tool skills, as it made me practice mine!

Neon Zebra Gradient

Hello lovelies!

Today I have for you a mani that's part of the Twin Blog Post group that I'm part of. I was lucky enough to have been randomly teamed up with Samantha this time, my bestie from Southern Sparkle Nail Art! Check out her awesome creation HERE.

Now on to mine:

COLOUR! Yes :D Made me very happy. It was a bit of work, hence just two nails got gradiented ;) I counted, there's 10 coats of crap on those!

I started of with a base coat, then 2 coats of P2 Square Affaire white nail polish, that my friends from Germany got me (remember this pretty?). On the pinky and index finger I added some Clowning Around from Polish Me Silly, neon rainbow glitter, oh yes! And I added a square stud on each of them and sealed in with two coats of SV. 

On the middle and ring fingers, I sponged on neon with some neon acrylic paint (hoping it would make clean-up easier, which it did). However, merely sponging proved a bit difficult, it wouldn't stick. So I dabbed on each colour seperately and blended and stuff... it worked in the end. Then I needed to smooth it out, because it dried very gritty, because of the dabbing. I decided it needed a tad bit of sparkle too, so I applied two coats of MNY Transforming Top Coat by Maybelline, which gives it a bit of rainbow shimmer. It sparkles in the sun!

Then I painted on the zebra stripes with a striper and I sealed it all in with SV. So what do you think? This would also be nice, if the other nails would've been black, instead of white. But I needed to add the Neon Glitter, one can understand ;)
