Half Moons

The Moon in AMC's Interview With the Vampire: Louis and Claudia Arrive in Paris
NOVEMBER 14, 1946
Louis and Claudia are sitting on top of a statue while they read a newspaper and banter.
Claudia's diary entry refers to arriving in Paris:
On November 14, 1945, there's a half moon which roughly matches up with the ephemeris, which opens the 2nd episode Do You Know What It Means to Be Loved By Death.
FWIW: It doesn't look like there would be a prominent moon in the sky on June 29, 1945 (which is when the Venus de Milo is returned to the Louvre and from when Armand dates his 77 relationship "almost to the day")
JANUARY 10, 1946
ETA, Update: It looks like this isn't the date, if you go by the prop. It's January 10, 1946 when they are sitting on top of the statue.
It may not be a real copy of Le Monde like the ones .@murfpersonalblog found of L'Humanite for Claudia's coven initiation or the coven dinner at the restaurant.
But there's still a half moon on January 10th, 1946. , which places them the statue between 6:30 pm January 10th (start of astronomical twilight)- January 11th 1:18 am (moonset).
Now this implies one of two different things:
Louis and Claudia first go to the theater in June, 5 months after we see them on the statue. Louis and Claudia go see les theatres des vampires around June 10th [5 months from this date]. This would push Claudia’s intiation to ~ July 10th.
Problems:
It's 's then physically impossible for Louis to visit Roget at the time of night he did. The clock physically strikes 8:00 or 9:00 pm during the visit and sunset during June and July are well after 8:00 pm.
No way would Louis and Claudia wait months to verify that Lestat is alive, talk themselves into staying in town anyways after meeting the theater group. Also Louis keeps saying its spring in Paris, ("I was an armored thing that spring") and this is a summer month.
This is after Claudia and Louis arrive in Paris. This is 57 days (or 1 month and 27 days) since Claudia wrote her diary entry saying they finally are in Paris. This fits with Louis already having his dark room set up, Claudia saying maybe we picked the wrong town and the v/o of Armand while the coven spies on them, implying they've been spying for a while. Armand is very clear they were in town for 5 months before they met and is stuck on it, and Louis is clear that it's also five months.
Louis says:
Louis: De Gaulle's Paris had me etherized. Armand: Ah! The whitest of lies turning 77 this year. Do not leave Dubai until you've made him retract it. .... (DeGaulle was in charge of the French government from November 13 1945-January 20, 1946. It could refer to Claudia and Louis not meeting the coven until April 1946.) ETA: Paris did not have an actual mayor from 1795-1977, except for brief periods in 1848 and 1870. They were the only city without a mayor.
I don't get that joke Louis is making; Louis and Claudia are oblivious to coven members in January, De Gaulle resigns ~ 10 days later and in the spring they meet the theatre des vampires? What is it about de Gaulle?

My hometown got roasted on The Simpsons last week, but that's okay. Part of the appeal of it for me as a kid was that Springfield was just like Utica. I hope Homer enjoyed his stay, cleared out our supply of half moons, and got blackout drunk on Utica Club!
