Thanks! Sorry It’s a bit late; I haven’t had a chance to sign on all day.
I agree about your post stating that fans should not simply buy tickets because of a particular actor starring in a play. Hamlet is my all-time favourite Shakespeare play, which I've never seen live. Furthermore, Benedict Cumberbatch is also one of my favourite actors. I do not live nor expect to visit the UK, I know I'm unable to see the show. This explained, I wish certain viewers of the production would've thought through their purchasing process more thoroughly.
You realize my post was ironic, right? The fact that someone read what I intended to be a gross exaggeration of an extreme viewpoint and actually agreed with it makes me a little sad.
"Thought through their purchasing process more thoroughly" - what exactly are you saying, here? That people shouldn’t buy tickets for a play if they think other people are more worthy/have better reasons to see it than them? Please consider the implications of that sort of thinking. Everyone has the same right to see a play, no matter what their reasons. There are no “wrong” reasons for going to the theater!
