Many say they found their soulmate when they fall in love, and this always has a chance to be true. We all have many people who can be our soulmate whether they be romantic or platonic. But some have only one who can fill those roles. These people are given a mark when they are old enough to keep it safe to let them know when they find their partner in all things. These pairs are exceptionally rare and often these marks cause much undo strife. Some get a happily ever after and others get only a tragedy.

Princess Elena first got her mark the month after she was allowed to choose her own ladies in waiting. They were safe and so fate allowed for them all to see. It was a secret they all knew they must keep for the princess was already betrothed and there would be trouble if she tried to choose her mark over her people.
