Brightpaw playing with the tiny Bramblekit and Tawnykit
I read this scene where Fireheart is looking around the clearing, observing his clan when noticing Brightpaw playing with Goldenflower's kits and I found this scene really adoreable. I couldn't help myself I just had to draw it!! :D
it’s 11am on a friday at the coffee shop on campus , your sitting at a table across from beau and your both studying for your individual classes , both helping each other study for your upcoming tests . you’re currently helping him with his sports medicine test . “okay a person experiencing what may appear to be intoxicated?” you ask the question , his brows furrow trying to remember before he says a guess . “uhmm elevated heart level?” “low blood sugar.” you say and he groans putting his face in his hands . “dude i’m not gonna pass this class..i’m gonna suck at being a doctor.” he murmurs . you frown softly before gently grabbing his wrists , pulling his hands away . “beau cmon your quite literally one of the smartest people i know..besides myself of course~” you say playfully , he rolls his eyes . “haha funny.” “okay seriously though..your gonna make an amazing doctor i know of it..” you rub your thumb lightly against his wrists comfortingly and he looks down at his wrists before back up at you , nodding softly at your words and smiling . “thanks angel..” he says and you smile back . “course you know i’m your biggest supporter.” you say slowly letting go of his wrists . “okay so what class are you studying for again?” he asks and takes your macbook looking down at your notes. “media ethics..it’s such an annoying class.” you say . “hey you decided to become a journalist~” he says and you laugh . “okay well you know i love expressing my opinion honestly.” you say . “oh trust me we know.” he says . “okay rude.” you say playfully frowning , he smiles at your reaction staring at you . you smile and laugh “you good? do i have something on my face?” you wipe around your mouth trying to make sure there’s nothing on me . “nono i just zoned out..but uh you do have an eyelash..may i?” he asks and you nod softly , he reaches over the table and brushes an eyelash off your cheek before putting it in front of you . “make a wish..” he says and you smile , closing your eyes and making a wish in your head before opening your eyes and blowing it away . “what’d you wish for?” he asks . “i can’t tell you! the wish won’t come true if i do.” you says and he laughs softly . “okay okay fair enough..” he says . you both sit and study together for a little before leaving and him walking you to media ethics class .
after that class , you go back to your apartment to relax and when you walk in your roommates there . “hey jen~” you smile softly . “hey weirdo~” she turns smiling back at you before turning back to her computer . “how was lunch with studying with beau?” she asks . “yea it was good..why?” you throw your bag down on the couch before moving into her room and sitting down on her bed . she turns to look back at you . “nothing..just wondering~” she smirks softly and you look at her suspiciously . “jen..what’re you on about..” you ask . “i’m just wondering when you idiots are gonna confess to each other.” she states and your eyes widen , you start stuttering trying to say something but the words come out incoherently . “girl..it’s painfully obvious you both like each other..why don’t you just tell him how you feel?” “because i know he doesn’t feel that way either..” you say . “so you do like him?” she asks her smirking growing more . “okay yes but still..he doesn’t feel that way so why even telling him and make it awkward between us?” “oh honey no guy acts like how he does with you unless he likes you.” she states . “he’s alway acted like that..ever since we were kids.” you say and she nods softly frowning softly at your dismissiveness . “but if he does like you back? what would you do..?” she asks . you sigh softly running your hands through your hair “i don’t know..i mean of course i’d be happy but we also have to worry about dean. he loves beau like a brother and i just don’t know how he’ll react if we got together..he’s always hated when like his other friends would flirt with me so i just don’t know..” you say . “well..i think you and beau would be killer together.” she states and you laugh softly . “i love you jen~” you smile softly at her . “i love you too girl.” she replies getting up and hugging you .
later that day , your at beaus apartment standing in the kitchen “okay i have an amazing idea.” your brother says abruptly . “and what is that?” you ask . “why don’t we go to that bar a few hours away we love~” he says . “you talking about dans dive bar?” beau speaks up . “yea cmon we should go!” dean insists . “okay fine..i’ll be designated driver tonight..” you say and your brother smiles . “thanks ..cmon let’s go it’s a two hour drive.” he says and you roll your eyes . “i’ll drive there..you just drive back.” beau says and you nod softly . you walk out of beau’s apartment , taking the elevator and walking out the building to beaus blue bronco , you get in the backseat while deans sits passenger and beau drivers . you make eye contact with beau through the rear view and u smile softly at him , he smiles back before quickly looking away and back ahead , you rest your head against the window as you sing along and make conversation with the boys .
two hours later , you get to the bar and it’s around 9pm , bars pretty full like always since it’s saturday . you three go sit down at the bar and you order a espresso martini , it being your one drink for the night . beau and dean order a shot together and they down it quickly before ordering two beers . “i’m only gonna drink two beers..” beau says . “cmonnnn why cmon don’t be a sober nancy~” dean asks frowning . “beau you should relax..” you insist . “i don think you’re gonna be able to drag us both out the bar..it’s fine i don’t need much..just a slight buzz is good enough.” he says and you nod softly . “okay whatever lets go play some pooolll!” dean says and all three of you move to a pool table . “beau your on my team.” he says and beau walks over to deans side of the pool table . “hey how is that any fair!” you say . “ugh fine i’ll be on my own then.” dean says and you laugh. “you’ll be okay you big baby.” you say and beau laughs before moving our next to you . for the next two hours , you , dean , and beau play pool , you and beau beat dean badly , by the time you’re done playing pool deans very drunk . deans come up behind you both getting between you and beau “you guys are my bestfriend..my sister and my bestfriend..” he smiles big and you turn your head to look at him . “you’re very drunk..lets you get back home~” you say and dean frowns . “cmonn let’s just stay longer..” he says . “dean we’ve been here two hours..” “we have?” you nod softly and he sighs slumping his head on your shoulder . “fine..” he murmurs . you take him out the bar and you help him into the backseat before you get in the driver seat and adjusting it , beau gets in the passenger seat , looking back at dean then you before looking back ahead , you start driving the two hours back to the hockey house .
you’ve been driving two hours back to beaus apartment, mostly in silence making some conversation , not wanting to wake up dean , passed out in the back seat . once you pull up outside his building you adjust the seat back to how it was before hopping out , beaus already out the car and holding dean up , you move over and help him . you get to beaus floor , he hands you the keys and you unlock his apartment before nudging the door open and walking inside . you both help dean onto the couch before putting a blanket over him and he murmurs something unclear , you and beau turn to each other for a second, not saying anything just staring , he looks away first for a second before back at you . “uhm..do you want me to take you back to your apartment? or you can just stay here..” he asks . “it’s late enough…i’ll just stay here.” you say and he nods .
you both walk into his room and you sit down on his bed and he looks through his drawers before passing you some clothes to change in . he turns away and you change into grey sweatpants and a black shirt , you tell him he can turn around and when he does his eyes widen slightly and he looks you up and down . blush faintly covers your face before you look down away from him , you sit back down and he sits next to you , you both sit in silence for a good bit before you speak up “beau..are we good?” you ask and he turns looking at you confused . “course angel..why wouldn’t we be..?” you turn to look up at him before sighing softly . “i just feel like..something’s off..i don’t know it’s probably nothing..” you ramble off and he gently title your chin back up to him and he holds his hand there as you both make eye contact . “angel..” he whispers and you feel your heartbeat fasten and your eyes flash down to his lips for a second before back , he notices it immediately but doesn’t say anything . “i don’t think it’s nothing..” he says . “yea?” you murmur and he nods , you lean closer to him but stopping for a second before leaning in more and kissing him . he freezes for a second and before he can kiss you back you pull away quickly and he can see the fear in your eyes . “oh my god im so sorry i shouldn’t have done that..god this is gonna make everything awkward.” your covering your face with your hands as you speak quickly , refusing to make eye contact with him , he frowns softly before gently pulling your hands away from your eyes . “angel..look at me..” he says and you don’t . “angel..please.” he pleads softly and you turn to look at him and he can sees your eyes are glassy . “you don’t need to be sorry..” he says and your eyes widen . “i don’t..?” you ask . “no angel..” he murmurs , he leans in closer to you and he looks from your eyes to your lips . “can i..” he asks and you nod . “before you do..i just wanna know are you sober?” you whisper softly and he smiles at your words and he nods . “hundred percent sober..i’m completely here.” you laugh softly and he leans in and kisses you . you smile into the kiss cupping his face and pulling him closer . he puts his hands on your waist pulling you against him , your lips moving urgently against each others , you climb on up his lap and he groans against your lips . he pulls away and looks toward the living room where dean is asleep before up at you . he looks down at your swollen lips and smirking softly before brushing his thumb against your bottom lip , making your lips part . “you’re brother can never find out about this..” he say , his voice deeper than a few minutes ago . you roll your eyes and smirk before moving your hands to his hair , gripping it gently , he closes his eyes and sighs . “just shut up and kiss me beau..” you whisper and he pulls you down , kissing you deeply and messily bringing a giggle out of you and you grip his hair tighter .

Writing a book series can be an incredibly rewarding experience for authors, but it also requires careful planning and execution. A well-crafted book series can captivate readers, build a loyal fan base, and provide a steady stream of income for writers. However, planning a successful book series is no easy feat.
It demands a deep understanding of world-building, character development, and plot progression. In this ultimate guide, I'll help you explore the essential steps to help you plan a compelling and cohesive book series that will keep your readers hooked from start to finish.
Develop a Compelling Premise The foundation of any successful book series is a strong premise. Your premise should be unique, engaging, and have the potential to sustain multiple books. Consider exploring a complex world, a captivating concept, or a character with a rich backstory that can evolve over the course of several books. Ask yourself: What makes your premise stand out? What will keep readers invested in the story for multiple installments?
Create a Detailed Outline Before you dive into writing, it's crucial to create a detailed outline for your entire book series. This outline should include the overarching plot, major story arcs, character development, and key events for each book. Having a solid outline will help you maintain consistency, avoid plot holes, and ensure that each book contributes to the overall narrative. Don't be afraid to make adjustments as you write, but having a roadmap will keep you on track.
World-Building: Crafting a Vivid and Consistent Universe One of the hallmarks of a successful book series is a richly developed and immersive world. Whether you're creating a fantasy realm, a futuristic society, or a contemporary setting, pay close attention to world-building. Establish the rules, customs, histories, and geography of your fictional world. Consistency is key, so ensure that the details align across all books in the series. Consider creating a "bible" or a comprehensive guide that outlines the intricacies of your world, making it easier to maintain continuity.
Develop Compelling Characters Great characters are the heart and soul of any book series. Your protagonists, antagonists, and supporting characters should be well-rounded, multi-dimensional, and undergo significant growth and transformation throughout the series. Craft backstories, motivations, flaws, and strengths for each character, and ensure that their actions and decisions drive the plot forward. Remember, character development is an ongoing process, so be prepared to explore new facets of your characters as the series progresses.
Establish Recurring Themes and Motifs Themes and motifs are powerful tools that can add depth and resonance to your book series. Identify the central themes you want to explore, such as love, redemption, power, or identity. Weave these themes throughout the series, allowing them to evolve and deepen with each installment. Motifs, like recurring symbols or imagery, can also create a sense of cohesion and add layers of meaning to your narrative.
Plan for Cliffhangers and Resolutions One of the key strategies for keeping readers engaged in a book series is the strategic use of cliffhangers and resolutions. Cliffhangers create anticipation and leave readers craving for the next installment. However, be cautious not to overuse this technique, as it can become frustrating for readers. Balance cliffhangers with satisfying resolutions that tie up loose ends and provide a sense of closure, while still leaving room for the story to continue.
Consider Pacing and Narrative Structure Pacing and narrative structure are crucial elements to consider when planning a book series. Each book should have its own narrative arc, with a beginning, middle, and end, while also contributing to the overall story progression. Vary the pacing between books to maintain reader interest, alternating between action-packed and slower, more introspective sections. Experiment with different narrative structures, such as multiple perspectives, non-linear timelines, or frame narratives, to keep the series fresh and engaging.
Manage Continuity and Consistency As your book series grows, maintaining continuity and consistency becomes increasingly important. Keep detailed records of character descriptions, plot points, world-building elements, and timelines. Regularly refer back to these notes to ensure that you're not introducing contradictions or inconsistencies. Consider creating a series bible or a wiki to help you keep track of all the moving parts.
Plan for Character Growth and Evolution In a book series, characters should undergo significant growth and evolution. Plan for character arcs that span multiple books, allowing your protagonists and supporting characters to face challenges, make difficult choices, and emerge as changed individuals. This character development will not only add depth to your narrative but also keep readers invested in the journey of your characters.
Anticipate and Address Potential Plot Holes As your book series expands, the potential for plot holes and inconsistencies increases. Be vigilant in identifying and addressing these issues during the planning stage. Regularly review your outline and notes, looking for any logical gaps or contradictions. Enlist the help of beta readers or critique partners to provide fresh perspectives and catch any potential plot holes you may have missed.
Consider the Overarching Story Arc While each book in your series should have its own narrative arc, it's essential to plan for an overarching story arc that spans the entire series. This overarching arc should tie together the individual books, building towards a climactic conclusion that resolves the central conflict or mystery. Ensure that each book contributes to this larger narrative, advancing the plot and raising the stakes for the characters.
Plan for Marketing and Promotion Finally, as you plan your book series, don't overlook the importance of marketing and promotion. Develop a strategy for building buzz and engaging with your audience throughout the release of each book. Leverage social media, author events, book tours, and other promotional opportunities to keep your readers excited and invested in your series.
Remember, writing a book series is a marathon, not a sprint, so be prepared to invest time, effort, and dedication into crafting a truly remarkable literary journey. Hope this helped!
