Another ombre I just wanted to die for, with the butterfly buttons to really set it off.
One of the best things about this witch hat is finding different yarn types and colors to work with. My absolute favorite is self-striping yarns but you still have to be mindful that you can't have one color cover 50% of the hat, and then have the other colors stripe less because the stitch count increased.
My man’s daughter’s birthday is this week! I did not do a weekend quilt this year, that was enough insanity.
A month ago at a family gathering, she came up to me and told me “she had me figured out” and promptly informed me that I was a witch. Yep, mmhmm, of course I’m gonna roll with that one! So I made her her very own trainee hat.
Pattern is Twisted Witch hat, yarn is just cheap red heart and a lion brand that had a bit of sparkle for the brim. It’s hard on the hands, both working double and working a bit tight so it holds it’s shape. Curl is stitched in place, not wired. It is suggested to stuff the thinner parts of the point, but mine stands fine. I also didn’t bother starching the rim, it’s fairly firm. I haven’t bought a pattern in ages but for $4.50, I feel like the pattern was well worth it.
I almost want to make another for me. Almost.
