Wheeljack: I appear to have invented a knife wielding tentacla. Uh, if anyone would be willing to volenteér to turn it off, that would be just fine by me.
Grimlock stared at his parent, squinting; there’s just something funny about watching a giant robotic t-rex glowering like that, Spinel speculated. It was a little hard to hold onto her mortal terror of the Dinobot king. Actually, come to think of it, she was pretty sure she hadn’t seen him voluntarily assume his biped mode in years.
“Why make that!?” He demanded. “Why!”
Wheeljack shrugged. “Look, I get bored sometimes. And I’ve been wanting to polish up on my swordsbot skills. I haven’t done serious bladework since the Decepticon Empire was still a thing!”
Behind them, Optimus was gallantly dueling the giant tentacle, somehow parrying blows from a blade larger than he was. It contorted and swing, and with a single blow he turned aside a strike that hit with so much force it cut up the ground around him. “Stirke as you may, knife beast, I shall not yield! Nor shall I flee! From the heart of Iacon itself, I STAB AT THEE!”
He swung. Elita-1, trying to hack into its bio-computers and deactivate, gave him a look between exasperation and amusement. “Dear, I know that is a line from the Twenty-Thousand Epics of Prima. Could you stop quoting classic literature in epic battles for one minute?”
Optimus parried again. “My love, I cannot! I must follow my muse!”
Grimlock gave them all an unamused look. He picked up a giant minigun from somewhere, and sighed. “Hey, little shortstack Gem.”
Spinel straightened up. “Uh... yeah...?”
“If you’re serious about this whole redemption thing, help me put this thing down-”
“I AM HELPING!” Spinel bellowed, making her arm grow a dozen times it’s size; she activated her newer incindiary powers, igniting her body with a massive blast.
The tentacle slumped over. It was very much dead, and smoking.
Grimlock sniffed. “That smells tasty,” he said, dropping the gun.
Spinel sat atop the lumps of charred flesh, as Optimus and Elita applauded her. “Whoo! I’m a helper!”
Wheeljack mused, “I wonder if she’s up for being a lab assistant...”
“PLEASE, NO,” Grimlock said, rolling his eyes.
