10/17/24 - Lago Vista, TX - TWO FROG RESCUE - One of the downsides of a swimming pool is that it attracts bugs and reptiles like toads, frogs and small snakes. We live in a hot dry climate so it makes sense that a body of water can be quite the attractant. Unfortunately, the pool water is chlorinated which can be harmful to the above mentioned critters. These guys (believe it or not, two frogs: one on top of the other) were fortunate that we found them in time to rescue them. In this pic, they’re still a little dazed and confused which allowed us to get a good still shot. What stands out to me is their camouflage: can’t tell that it’s really two frogs and they blend in with the ground really well. Hope they recover from their ordeal in the chlorinated pool water with no lingering effects.
