The Chicago two-flat emerged in the late 1800s as a response to the city’s growing immigrant population. Alongside four-flats and six-flats, two-flats make up over 30 percent of Chicago’s housing stock I love seeing them from this perspective; the red brick façade seems to shift and flow with you, creating a captivating three-dimensional illusion.
