M: your favourite writer/s
· Neil Gaiman, JRR Tolkien, JK Rowling, Judika Iles, Raymond Buckland, and David Eddings. There are others I’ve really enjoyed, but these are the authors who will move me to pick something up based solely on the fact that they wrote it.
I: a book you can read over and over
· Well, since I already covered American Gods on Adis’ response… I’m also really fond of the Belgariad series as a whole. I had a reread last year and it was seriously so much fun. I know they’re not exactly the pinnacle of high fantasy, but I love them and I’ll cut anyone who badmouths them.
C: which fandom do you know the most about?
· Probably the Tolkien fandom. I wrote a lot of papers on Tolkien and read a lot about him and his work. Plus, I mean, LOTR is kind of the foundation for all modern fantasy, so it’s something you might want to pick up if you like the genre.
H: a character that you love to hate?
· Hmmmmmmmm…. Petyr fucking Baelish. God, I hate that guy. But it’s not the deep, repellant hate for, say, Ramsay Snow (fuck that guy I’m not recognizing him as legit), it’s just a general disgust and hatred. So… fuck Baelish, man.
A: fandom you blog about the most
· Since I covered Tolkien for Adis… SUPERNATURAL! Blame Jensen Ackles and his stupid voice and his stupid face and his stupid character. Jesus.
E: a character you think you’re the most like?
· I’ve always thought Bilbo Baggins and I were remarkably similar. The idea of danger and adventure is fun, but we’re weenies about going out and doing it until we’re in it and then it starts being fun. Plus the idea of living in a cozy little hole eating and reading all day sounds fucking perfect.
L: a quote from one of your fandoms which you absolutely adore
· “ Saruman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay... small acts of kindness and love.” –Gandalf, An Unexpected Journey.
· Because it is. That’s what goodness is. It’s little gestures of goodwill that translate into a bigger feeling of positivity that inspire people to do greater things.
