note: fem!reader x younger brother's best friend!kyungmin, age gap isn't crazy btw like 2 yrs or smth, usage of the word noona, mention of alcohol, i mean no harm to any of the members, this is purely a work of fiction!
BEFORE you even clicked the door closed, you let out a groan, already knowing the chaos that awaited you in the living room, the smell of alcohol wafted in the air.
indeed, you were greeted with pure chaos. multiple beer cans were scattered on the floor, some even rolling down into the kitchen. jihoon and dohoon were squeezed together on the couch. how they managed to fit there, you had no idea. you walked a bit further into the room to see kyungmin sprawled on the floor, with half of his body barely making it to the living room carpet.
you let out a heavy sigh, deciding to scold them properly tomorrow. you specifically remembered warning them not to go too hard, hoping that at least dohoon would round them up as the eldest among them.
shaking your head, you started to head to your room as quietly as you can. but you quickly proved your inability to do so when you bumped your shin into the coffee table.
you barely had time to process the pain when you heard something shuffle behind you. it was kyungmin, who was slowly stirring awake from the sudden noise. you saw him rub the sleep out of his eyes before squinting in your direction, trying to figure out who was standing in front him.
his eyes widened in recognition, "y/n noona~! you're home!" kyungmin cheered as he tried to get up. key word try, because he stumbled a bit before finally sitting up, his back against the couch.
"kyungmin-ah, didn't i tell you guys not to drink so much?" you messed up his hair as you lightly scolded him, joining him on the floor.
from this position, you got to opportunity to stare at his face. you didn't know how, but it was like you were entranced as you moved your hand from his head to the side of his face. the once familiar chubbiness of his cheeks were now replaced with a more defined facial structure. you noticed how the way his hair falls on his face perfectly complements his features, a vast difference from the bowl cut he used to have from your childhood.
it took him a while to process your words before letting out a giggle, "noona~ don't blame me! blame dohoon hyung," he hiccuped, "he just kept going."
and as much as you wanted to scold him, you didn't have the heart to do so. especially when he started to snuggle his face into your palm, like a little puppy asking for pets from its owner.
"noona is so~ pretty," he giggles again, as his mouth formed into a satisfied smile. but almost in an instant, his eyebrows furrowed and his lips formed into a pout, "but noona is also so~ mean,"
"what do you mean, kyungmin-ah? did i do something wrong?" you asked, genuinely confused as to what made him say that.
"noona still sees me as a little kid," kyungmin said as his eyes started closing, his words slurred together, "i really like noona, not just a silly crush," he barely got the last word out before dropping his head, already fast asleep.
you felt your heart drop to your stomach, unable to describe the emotions you feel right now. was it shame? ashamed that you always brushed him off, never thinking his feelings were actually serious. were you nervous? nervous that tomorrow he'd forget all about this and you'd have to live with the guilt forever. you weren't exactly sure.
but the one thing you were sure about was that your heart has never beaten this fast before.

a/n: see this is my problem,, i don't have ideas for established relationship fics and i LOVE me a good slowburn so this is why i take forever to write... the way that this is literally just one plot point in the story 😭 so if u have any ideas for establish relationships or any short scenario (i also love angst) would be GLADLY appreciated bc these long fics take forever!!
