[NRCxDOC Shenanigans] Padma! :)

Is Lacey like Padma, Bristle, and Chion like mom or sister? Padma and bristle look just like her. ALSO Lacey has a son right?

Ooohhh I do get that it can be complicated for first meets with the Eglanthia quad, and trust me the TWST boys are just as confused once they meet. You're getting the live experience POV of an NRC student meeting Chion and her Trio of Vice Housewardens XDD

But basically:

1. Padma and Bristle — Lacey is their aunt.

Lacey's sister, Lola Clairmont (original nymph fae name: Ligeia) and her husband adopted twin baby girls after the move to Shaftlands, having found them left in a stairway. They couldn't have children of their own, thus keeping them.

But Lacey was entrusted with their care and she basically babysat them their whole life, as Lola and her husband established careers.

Lacey was emotionally strangled by the thought of raising human babies, reminded that Lilia was raising a human son somewhere back in Briar Valley (this was Silver, and that makes the twins the same age as him!) but eventually fell in love with them and indeed took care of them.

2. To Chion, Lacey is a guardian.

They are unrelated by blood. The Clairmonts just so happened to move into the Greyborough Estate— a large, distant and secure neighborhood full of immigrant and refugee fae which also housed Chion's draconic fae family, the Nevefalls. The families got along very well and Chion became dear to Lacey and the twins as a frequent visitor and friend.

3. Why does Lacey look and function like she's a triplet to Padma and Bristle?

- The twins don't look the way they are naturally— they got the same blessing like how Lilia changed Silver's hair. The twins were given similar features as Lacey and Lola when they were babies.

- Chion was deeply insecure and strangled when Fowler first delegated her as Eglanthia Housewarden (again she has self-loathing issues), so Lacey and the twins agreed to all help her in easing the workload and the role as a whole. Thus came the Clairmont Triumvirate— three Vice Housewardens handling the main tasks and activity departments while Chion handles executive and representative functions.

4. Does Lacey have a son?

As mentioned in the summary post, yes. She does have a son. Not only is he a grown fae now (300+ years old) he is also an entrepreneur, owning several resto-cafe branches in Shaftlands that fund his mother and the girls' studies.

What does he look like, though?

If you're gonna ask who his dad is, I ain't saying nothin :-)

Hello! First I would like to wish you a blessed week, and say that I love your art and I'm falling in love with your oc's.

Now for my ask: Does Padma and Bristle know there aunt lore? About the fact that she was/still is married to THE Lilia Vanrouge THE great general of the old or this is like a family's taboo, fated to die with Lacey, Lola and Lola's husband?

I'm asking this because it looks like Chion is well awere of the whole lore around Lacey and Lilia.

Answer: Yes, Padma and Bristle DO know what happened to their Auntie Lacey. They got curious while growing up under Lacey's care, given that they were in Shaftlands and the twins were the only humans in the family. Somewhere around the time that the twins are twelve, the family decided to come clean and explain why they migrated and why Lacey has a different name now.

And yep, Chion is indeed aware of the whole lore; she (and the whole Nevefall family) are very close to the Clairmonts lol. But Chion is the one closest to them. She's that one kid who's always in their house for some reason XDD

Extra Fun Fact: Why did Lacey and Chion enroll in DOC despite being so old? (Lacey is 643 and Chion is 152) The Clairmonts are very fussy and are still confused about how to raise human children. When the twins were in their last year of middle school, the family wasn't sure about which next school to enroll them in, and if their choices were safe... Lacey just sighed and went, 'Okay, to put this all to rest, I will be enrolling there. If I'm fine by the end of the year, they can follow in the next admission window.'

Chion followed Lacey, since she was pretty much idle. (Again, SHE WAS ALWAYS IN THEIR HOUSE; CLEARLY, SHE GOT NOTHING BETTER TO DO—) And the story pretty much wrote itself; now we have Lacey and Chion as third-years, while the twins are sophomores at Dawn Owl College, lol.
