“Hard to even pick him out of the sky before he’s on you, frighteningly effective hunters over there...”
And there you are among the stars flying high
Searching for a new tomorrow
O ye
the morning breeze
gather thy sails
and envelope me
We had women with masc body options, so how about those men with femme body options too!!! 💖💅💖

Some OC ask love for non-playable Tyrian races
Holly I'm eating your drywall that's so many
1. Do they fit well into their society? How do they feel about their community? Do they have any grievances with their way of life?
He fits very well, as an outgoing ambassador and map charter! He's usually paired with a linguist too on his travels, his tasks being essentially to map the world and explore who else is out there. Even though harpy communities are pretty closed off, they still want to know who else is out there and whether they would harm our help if contact did happen.
Due to all of this travel, Ty Lluan tends to be a bit more open to friendly interactions with strangers than most. Though that's even moreso with other harpy nests specifically.
2. Have they ever left their community? Why? What would push them to leave or stay?
He leaves quite regularly in small groups for exploration! Always reports back home though, he gets homesick if he's gone for too long at once. His job is fun, but his home is his Tree.
3. Where were they born? Did they like the place? Did they grow up there or did they move away at some point? Do they wish things went differently?
He was born in his beautiful Winding Tree, who had encouraged his children to spread their wings far and wide. Why else would they have them, if not to enjoy the freedom they afford? And Ty Lluan always loves returning with his new charts to show and tales of his journies.
4. What's their family like? Are they still around? Do they like them and get along?
Personalities of the sylvari from the Winding Tree vary from very intrinsically harpy-esque to intense wanderlust and a desire to build new connections. And despite the differences, they've worked out a really great system that benefits them all. Those who only seek out other harpies stay and grow the nests, working hand in hand with the harpy nest their Tree grew within. And those who seek adventure map out the world and find other nests to build alliances and friendships with.
5. Do they have a partner and/or offspring? What's their relationship with them?
Nope! Ty Lluan is currently single currently. It's kind of hard to maintain a relationship with how much he travels!
6. How is their social life? Are they generally well-liked or despised? Are they involved in any drama? Do they make more enemies or friends?
Some of his siblings find him too easygoing, though by outsider standards he can still be a bit offputting and grating in his own ways. He tries to avoid drama when possible, but he does lowkey push peoples buttons on purpose on his travels to know how they'll react and if they could be a friend or foe.
7. What's their job/role in their community? Do they like it? Would they prefer something else?
As said above he's an explorer and cartographer of sorts, which he very much enjoys!
8. Do they have any particular hobby? Is it common for their race?
He doodles on his maps a lot, little sketches to clarify what kind of peoples and creatures live in each area. It's a nice little task to focus on, and it sets his maps apart from others.
9. How do they feel about other races? Do they like to intermingle or do they prefer to stay away? Is their community of the same idea?
His opinions vary, though he preferred other sylvari nests he's found groups of others that he's gotten along with too. The skritt especially are an entertaining bunch, he will veer into any of their cities immediately on his travels. On the other end, he avoids any asuran and human cities like the plague and just marks them automatically as cities to avoid.
10. What was their first experience with other races? Did it impact them or forge particular sympathies or antipathies? Did they have any bias beforehand?
To explain the two above, he did see a krewe of asura collecting skritt for specimen studies. And very quickly stepped in with his group to help them remain free once it was clear what was happening. This colored his opinion of both races very quickly.
As for humans, the thought that they connect their goddess Dwayna to harpies through disgraced and cast out followers? It's insulting. His tree made him in the image of the harpy nest he grew in, and they're a noble group. Not some banished descendants.
11. What's their opinion on the Pact and/or Alliance? Were they or their people affected by changes brought by them?
He's heard of them on his travels but never directly interacted! He isn't very interested in doing so either, seems like a big mix of people/organizations and that's a lot harder to figure out than the smaller communities he finds. Neat that they're saving the world though.
12. Were they affected by the Elder Dragons? Would they have joined the fight against them?
His nest was tangentially affected by Jormag up in the mountains, but they were far enough out that they were able to essentially call everyone home and close up the nest until the threat had passed. The Winding Tree carefully weaving over all exits once he confirmed all of his children had returned along with the harpies they nest with.
13. Are/were their people involved in any conflict? If yes, what was their stance on it?
They have sided with the harpies they share their nest with in any disputes!
14. [Free space for 3 pieces of trivia about your character!]
The sylvari of this nest trend to come in natural tones, lots of greens and browns to blend in with the trees. Rarer but still relatively common are white variants, who more consistently tend to be outgoing. They blend well with the show and skies, ideal for traveling without detection in the sky. Ty Lluan is near-perfect white, with light beige feathers mixed in.
He's incredibly organized, never a single cartography tool out of place. If something does get moved or jostled, he rectifies that immediately before anything else.
He has taken young skritt on joy rides on occasion, if asked nicely. The only species he'll share the joy of flight with.
Hiiii!!! Glad you're having a fun night~~ I wanna know more about Ty Lluan! I love his concept and design so much, so what is he up to currently? Does he work for anybody? Any hobbies? Any drama with anybody? Anything goes I just wanna know!
I'm having SUCH A FUN NIGHT TJANK YOU I won a mini waffle iron at a gay bar, truly astounding 10/10 everyone go to your local gay bar's bingo night if there is one✨️
Ty Lluan is pretty free-floating right now! His concept is one I've nailed down thoroughly, I know his tree well as a seed that was carried to a harpy nest and grew into the nesting tree. You know how all harpy nests in-game have those intricate branches around them? Think like. That bur also with higher up nesting areas too. Cubbies upon cubbies and sylvari within the ones above ground. Ty Lluan is one of the sylvari born from this tree, which pulls entirely from harpy anatomy, and he specifically would qualify as a scout in layman's terms! I've tried a few plot options for him but he's still pretty free-floating with no concrete named connections yet.
He's the first of his tree to reach out to the Grove, to his tree's sibling and his cousins, and he does get in a mess with the Court too at one point but that's up in the air rn.
He's aggressive, prone to attacking non-sylvari much like harpies in general. He uses he/him in a very feminine way as well. Harpy culture has had a major impact on his Tree and his personal views while he still tries to be open with others, so he can come off as brash to others without really intending it. A very misunderstood soul overall, and eager to get to know his Pale Tree cousins. He finds the tablet they built their knowledge from very interesting but naive, enacting kindness before all else such as concern or more basically stranger danger.
Ty Lluan loves long flights over the water far from home, and he has bonded a bit with the uhhhhhh (too drunk for this) bird people across the closed gates. He finds them an interesting medium between harpy and outsider opinions, these bird people being cautious and closed off but still openly interacting with and trading with outsiders willingly.
At this moment, since Cantha opened its borders he's made his way there to meet with the people (humans/norn/bird people) across the water and is embroiled with making alliances! I'm hoping to eventually work him into one of my main plots, but I haven't quite found the right place for him among my personal commander roster yet. But he's a wonderful character I'm constantly trying to build bit by bit! Thank you kindly for the interest in him 💖
