a word to consider, if you’d like:
frivolous
I tried to make it 100 words, but I guess I’m not cut out for this.
Enjoy!
“Tsk, don’t be so frivolous. It doesn’t suit you.” “Frivolous?” Dazai rolled the word over his tongue the way one might toy with a poisoned candy. The smile he offered a moment later only stoked the fury churning inside him. He scoffed, letting out a thin, brittle laugh. “Such an elegant choice of word. How many neurons did that take?” A muscle in Chuuya’s face twitched. He clenched his fists at his sides, feeling the seams of his gloves strain, on the verge of tearing, and his patience—patience he had clung to uselessly until it was shredded when hell broke loose in the warehouse—slip through his fingers. He wouldn’t lose control. He wouldn’t give in. Dazai was terrified. Fear gnawed at his insides, painting catastrophic scenarios across his mind, freezing him in place—and this, the malicious remarks, the mocking tone he hid behind, this wretched thing standing before him, was nothing more than a mask. A flimsy one. Chuuya stepped forward, and Dazai flinched. He opened his mouth—whatever he was about to say, whatever venom he meant to spill—he swallowed it whole when the redhead softened his expression and let his scent spill into the air. Not much. Just enough to calm him. “We’ll make it.” Then Dazai’s nostrils flared, and he collapsed.
