Question. Who was the 3rd Head Keeper of the #HillsboroLighthouse? Ben Stone, right? Wrong. Actually it was this gentleman, Charles Seabrook who #onthisday in 1919 began his short stay. Seabrook married Dorothea Weiking in 1910 and brought their kids Franklin, Edwin, John and Bertha to the Station, coming from #TybeeLighthouse. The Knights had thought that moving to #JupiterLighthouse and a bigger population would offer their kids a better opportunity for schooling. Well the grass didn’t turn out to be greener up north and Thomas persuaded Charles to swap positions. The District 6 Inspector ok’d the plan and so the Seabrook clan would depart on October 16 of the same year. In Jupiter, Seabrook would have a long and distinguished career.
