I received a really lovely reminder today that I am Seen and still...in good standing, I guess? I'm failing to come up with a word that encapsulates what I'm feeling. Despite feeling like I'm not "doing enough".

My spouse is rarely one for blind boxes, but they are an Artist above all else, so the smisik (smiski? Little green dudes) museum collection has really enamored them.

Yall, my poor spouse has purchased THREE of these things and gotten the EXACT SAME figure. The one that they like the least.

We were out, celebrating their birthday, and we came across a store selling these little figures. I told them they should try again, it is their birthday, but they're convinced that they are cursed here.

So I offered to choose and buy one for them.

As I put my hand over the little tray of cardboard boxes, I think "Tyche bless me". I wouldn't call it an Official Petition, more a general wish for luck. I spend just a moment lingering over the boxes, and end up changing my mind about the one I was going to grab.

We pay, check out, and immediately my spouse starts to open their little box, half expecting a fourth duplicate.

Y'all I picked the box that had the little figure they most wanted. I didn't even know which one that was.

Im burning some frankincense for Tyche now that we're home, as thanks for the excellent fortune. I feel light, at peace, and seen. Not forgotten, not written off like I so often fear.
