Jasmine: What color looks best on you?My mother tells me blue. I don’t mess around with colors as much as I should.Allium:What's the best thing you can cook?I’m getting really good at banana pancakes.
YOU SENT THIS LIKE THREE HUNDRED YEARS AGO BUT HERE
this is going to be a long post bc i have four inquisitors now lmao
Ellana, Dalish mage, sided with the mages (aka: precious cinnamon bun, too good for this world, too pure):
1. She has pale skin, white hair, with an undercut on the side. Her face is small and round face with wide-blue eyes that are almost purple. She has no scars, but her vassalin is green and the complex version of Mythal’s. She’s very young, evidenced by her fresh vassalin, a little naive, but very well read/educated. The conclave was her first time away from her clan, save for when she was sent to the Lavellan clan in the first place.
5. She probably relates to Cole most as they share a strong desire to help everyone, and also Josephine (who she is romancing). But there’s a bit of a disconnect between her and most of the other companions, mostly due to her age and her naivete. She relies on Varric and Cassandra for advice a lot, and tends to try to find a compromise between their radically different viewpoints.
26. a) She loves books, she didn’t get to see them much with her clan, but the idea of knowledge from a direct source that can not only be referred back to, but also can be preserved in its original form appeals to her greatly, since it’s difficult to do this with the dalish’s oral histories.
b) she knew she liked girls with the dalish clan, but felt she couldn’t express/act on that attraction because of her duty to reproduce and continue the dalish line, even though the dalish don’t necessarily frown upon same-gender relationships. she didn’t expect to have as big a crush on josie as she does and is a little bit intimidated by it. (varric teases her about it a lot)
c) she’s terribly terribly frightened of how her choices will affect thedas. she’s heard enough stories (and now read enough books) about leaders who failed and caused more chaos than before, or leaders who became tyrants, and she is very scared she will follow on the same path.
Mahanon, Dalish warrior, sided with mages (aka: “i’ll kick anyone’s ass, i’ll kick your ass, i’ll kick your dog’s ass, i’ll kick my own ass):
1. Mahanon is rather plain, with dark skin that’s gotten darker from years spent hunting. He’s in his mid-twenties, and is generally very serious, but with a sharp, dry wit that has a tendency to come out sharper than he intended. He’s very proud, but doesn’t care about his looks, so his auburn hair is messy constantly (and occasionally has bits of leaves in it). He is usually frowning.
5. Cassandra, I think, and Blackwall. Warriors stick with warriors and Cassandra and Blackwall don’t tease him about being serious the way Bull does. (he’d probably get on with fenris like a house on fire…it’s probably better that they don’t meet)
26. a) He and Dorian are almost exact opposites, Dorian tends to disguise his emotions and Mahanon is too direct, Dorian enjoys being the center of attention and Mahanon is more like a cat that wishes everyone would go away. Maybe the reasons that they’re opposites are why they’re attracted to each other, simply because their respective traits are unusual to each of them. Everyone in clan Lavellan is very serious all the time and occasionally too honest, and Dorian is used to Tevinter aristocracy and its lies and politics. it works, somehow.
b) mahanon cannot sit still. he’s always finding something to do around skyhold, if he doesn’t have paperwork to do, he’s out in the training yard, he’s helping rebuild shit, or he’s in the forge, or he’s in the stables helping dennet, or he’s helping the cooks. he’s literally in motion at all times. which means…
c) josephine is forever exasperated by him because he will meet dignitaries and nobles and Very Important People while covered in dirt or hay or leaves or soot or who the fuck knows because she’s had to send someone to drag him away from something because he wants nothing to do with any of this politicking this is what josie is here for obviously.
Macha, human rogue, will probably side with templars (aka: world’s worst andrastian):
1. Macha has wild black hair normally, it’s a pain in the ass to take care of and recently her mother convinced her to chop it all off. It’s still a mess, but Macha doesn’t lose things in it anymore. Macha in general looks wild, yellow eyes and a sharp, angular face with a scar running down one cheek. Kinda scary, always looking for a fight, a bit too smart for her own good.
5. I’m gonna go with Sera and Bull here. One’s a troublemaker and the other’s a bruiser, and Macha enjoys being both.
26. a) she’s wolf-like, almost. she slinks around the edges of rooms, going unnoticed for the most part (this drives her mother crazy when they’re at parties), until she decides to pounce into the crowd. she bares her teeth when angry, has a laugh that’s more like a bark than anything else, and tends to buck at anything that requires her to fulfill obligations.
b) she’s very religious, and prays a lot, but is currently very very angry that she’s apparently andraste’s chosen. like, fuck off i’m literally the worst person for this job why the fuck do i have to deal with this shit, fuck you andraste, you and your weird fucking hat. still though, she believes.
Ma’Samahl, dalish mage (lmao again), will side with someone idk (aka: a huge asshole, but you’re his friend so he’s your asshole):
1. Black hair, brown eyes, dark skin and big ole eyebrows. His vassalin is June’s, because Ma’Samahl is pretty much a benevolent mad scientist and lives to create weird magic shit (and other mundane shit too). he’s also very pretty, and he knows it too.
5. Dorian. Love of weird crazy magic shit? Check. Generally believes they are better than anyone? Check. Massive fucking nerd? Check. Probably also Blackwall, since they both have a loyal streak about a mile wide. And probably also Solas (he doesnt like him, but he relates to him and they have many of the same interests)
26. a) ma’samahl never had any intentions of being a keeper, though he’s proud of his dalish heritage and culture, and he wants to help preserve that, he also wants to try to rediscover things that were lost after the fall. in a similar vein as merill, he’s very interested in the magical aspect of ancient elven culture especially, and wants to try to recreate some of those artifacts. he also, growing up, wanted to join a circle like vivienne’s, that was more about research and teaching than keeping mages locked up (then he found out the truth about circles). he never left the clan because…
b) once he’s decided you’re one of “his people” you will never get rid of him. ever. like, ma’samahl is loyal almost to a fault, and he won’t be passive with you when you fuck up, but he will help you fix it (while grumbling all the way). if someone’s got a problem with you, they’ve got a problem with him. he’s never really felt connected to “official” duty (like being keeper), but he does feel a strong sense of duty to the people he cares about.
