WednesdayxDanny Phantom crossover prompt:
The Loyal and Faithful Follower.
Tyler wasn't a very religious person. He went to church on Christmas and maybe for a handful of funerals in his life. That's about it.So when he was told about some deity named Phantom by a couple of guys at boot camp, he was skeptical.
They insisted he was real though and so Tyler asked for proof. The other boys gladly accept and set up a simple ritual with an offering of frosted animal crackers that one of them smuggled in. Asking for Phantom to somehow get PT canceled the next day so they could rest and not have to go out in the hot sun.
Tyler thought they were full of it. There's no way that they thought this would work. Only it did, or at least they thought it did. The next day the entire camp was hit with a lightning storm so bad that it flooded the entire obstacle corse and washed some of it away in the stream.
But he was still not convinced, so the boys set up another ritual; this time with a candy bar, and asked that Sargent Maxwell get what he deserved for messing up the barracks after they had cleaned the place top to bottom. Tyler could see why they would ask that of the supposed deity. Sargent Maxwell was a total ass**** and had ruined hours of cleaning just became the beds weren't made to his standards.
The next day they find out that the Sargent's house was brutally vandalized when they lined up for morning drills. Every window smashed, every wall hole ridden, and every pipe unusable with the amount of clogs they had. That made Tyler raise an eyebrow. But to really sell it, to really convince Tyler of Phantoms existence; they held another ritual.
This time they offered a hostess snack cake and asked for Phantom for a pizza night for the whole camp that Friday night. Tyler had raised another eyebrow at that, because while it would of been nice for all of them to have a brake from the healthy stuff the camp pushed it was a fat chance in hell that the camp would allow such a thing.
However, sure enough; Tyler soon found himself eat his words as well as a slice of pepperoni come Friday. Apparently all of the food in the camps kitchen had been suspiciously contaminated with calminila. Even the things in boxes and cans were affected and sent one of the drill instructors to the hospital.
Now thoroughly convinced, Tyler started asking the boys more questions about Phantom and by the end of summer Tyler could say he was a fellow follower of the Ghost King. Continuing even after he had long gone home. His Dad gave him a wired look when he saw the small alter in his room but he just explained what Phantom was all about and though he still thought it was wired he let it go.
He even sent him a link when he was at work, asking if "This was the guy you were talking about?". He was ecstatic that his Dad was taking an interest in his life for once and even answered his questions that night as they ate dinner without snapping at him at the times he sounded a bit too condescending.
Tyler even mentioned it to his new court mandated therapist, Dr. Kinbott. While she too had her own miss givings about the whole worshipping a pagen god. She at least listened and did her own research on Phantom as well. Getting excited when she brought up Phantoms roll as a protection deity at their next session. Asking him if maybe he was also thinking of pursuing a protective roll in there community like his father.
He thinks his answer disappointed her a bit. It was fine though. You didn't need to be a cop to protect people and make a difference. So he arranged for the extra food at his job to be donated to a local soup kitchen, and starts offering French lessons to people at the public library. He's doing more, helping more and he's never been happier. Not since before his Mom died at least.
So when it all goes down hill and life took a left turn for him in the form of one Marilyn Thornhill and he finds himself chained in a damp cave. Tyler bowed his head and asked Phantom for help in his hour of need. Pouring his little heart out with one simple prayer and jumped out of his skin when he felt gentle fingers run threw his now bloody curls.
Looking up Tyler's hazel eyes widened when they landed on the face of Phantom. Green gaze firey but gentle." I heard your cry for help, don't worry." He says and with his other hand he waves above the cuffs that hold him chained to the cave wall. Making them open and release Tyler with only a small hiss of discomfort from where they had long dug into his skin." Let's get out of here and get you to a hospital."

Tyler meets some boys from Amity Park at boot camp. They bestow the knowledge of Phantom onto him and he's living for it. Honestly one of the greatest things that have ever happened to him honestly.
