Baltic Aviation Academy plans to accept 140% more Ab Initio students for the next school year starting from September 2012. The Flight Training Organization (FTO) has increased its capabilities to accept 28 new students, which will result in training a total of 48 Ab Initio students during the 2012 September season.

Baltic Aviation Academy participated in the Singapore Air Show 2012. Together with Avia Solutions Group the training centre had a booth in the exhibition. The academy representatives had a meeting with the representatives of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) during which they discussed the opportunities to enter the Asia-Pacific aviation training market and covered the main requirements for the CAAS approvals. ’The trait that distinguishes Singapore aviation is its’ civil aviation administration, which is really helpful to training centres wishing to enter the market,’ said Dainuole Bartasuniene, Product Development Manager at Baltic Aviation Academy.

In the last couple of years the headlines of aviation media are fraught with statistics on the current lack of pilots and an increasing demand for the professionals in the field. However, in reality, when interviewing fresh ATPL graduates, it comes to light that one of the major factors in determining a successful pilot career is the steps that a candidate takes whilst entering the aviation job market. Pilots must decide whether to pay for their type training courses themselves or attempt to find training finance from external sources.
