A spoiled boy.#Also I realize global translated this skit title with “spoiled” rather than selfish #and while I /get/ what they were trying to go for... the skit title itself uses the word for selfish.#Also when Yuri tells Guy not to spoil a selfish boy #he specifically uses the JP word for spoiled /and/ the word for selfish (i.e. don't spoil a selfish boy)#and then /Luke/ follows up with the same word for /selfish/ when he asks “what about me is selfish”.#So the reason I'm choosing selfish for the title over spoiled is because aside from the title word usage #the main focus of the skit becomes about Luke's selfishness and not him being spoiled.#There's only a brief mention of him being spoiled. The conversation that follows is about his selfish behavior #so the general idea of the skit doesn't follow the idea of him being spoiled.#Sometimes depending on word choices and context it's okay to fiddle with words for stuff like this for titles #because a lot of translation is conveying meaning as well the word choices if those word choices hold significance.#In this case though Yuri specifically uses both words so it's not really so much a matter of context imo.#He specifically uses both words and the one the conversation continues from is “selfish” rather than “spoiled”.#If the conversation intent in the writing intended to gear toward “spoiled”#then Luke would've used that word and not the one for selfish. He reacted more to being called selfish.#Luke is also pretty aware he's been spoiled imo? But being called selfish is different in this context.#Yuri also wasn't really using it in an insulting way. He was referring to /Guy/ spoiling Luke #so he's not calling Luke spoiled so much as saying Guy spoils a selfish boy. Luke reacts to being called selfish and not to Yuri saying #that Guy spoils him. If hearing that people spoil him was more insulting than he would've used that word in his response.#Anyway I'm basically outta tags so I hope this makes sense LOL. Basically I know what global used and I don't agree with it #given the JP word choices on top of the flow of conversation.

It's not an extra space. It's just the font being like that.#Translation Notes: During the lines Luke is getting closer to Yuri he's using a sort of “come ooon” tone #He's in clingy toddler Luke mode lol. If you're familiar with Luke's JP voice think of his whiny/clingy voice here.#The “Ix is here right? We have Ix here” part is an intentionally deadpan statement #along the lines of “we literally have Ix here though”. The use of “right” is rhetorical as he's not actually asking “is Ix here”.#I wasn't sure which one I wanted to go with because there's an intentional tone to the original #and it feels more annoyed-Yuri-esque to me in this situation to have that “uh hello? Ix is here” feel to his statement.#I'm not sure how to explain this better LOL but yeah that's the idea behind that line.#As for the title I went with dependable over reliable in this instance since Luke is very dependent on Yuri for a lot #and Yuri has thus been dependable for him whereas if say Yuri was watching his back in battle I'd use reliable.#The words can both be used for the JP term 頼 followed by れる #but since in English more than one term can be used I went with the one that fit in more with the topic of the skit and the characters.
