I won't share everything I was/might (in the future!) put in the mod, but I'll share some of the general fun ideas I'd had for the route I was working on:
many, many fun ways to tell Cove you're expecting. Some ideas were more symbolic, like giving him 3 dolphin balloons, or silly with a bun in the oven joke (that would've gone over his head, bless him), or just giving him the test like a frazzled mess 😂
It was going to be possible for you and Cove to have gotten together between step 4 and 5, not have told anyone you were dating, and now having a kid, so you'd get to hit everyone with a double-whammy during the reveal scene(s) LOL (Obviously, this would have been on the unplanned pregnancy route, etc...)
Lots of Cove doting on the MC, maybe overly so at times. If your MC was a bit more fiesty/resistent to help you might have to remind him you're not made of glass. (There would DEFINITELY have to be a scene where Cove gets the option to carry the MC 🥹...)
A whole nursery design plot, but either everything goes perfectly, or nothing seems to go quite right... up to you and how your MC would handle it.

i widdled this down as best i could & made it as simple to understand as i could (i'm so fucking bad at explaining things, but i swear i'm trying lmao - i'm just so fuckin glad this isn't about colouring >.> lmao)
for the way i explain things: basic knowledge of gif making is required, basic knowledge of using adjustment layers & opacity/filter settings is required.
okay, so first thing's first: i simply make a b/w version of whatever i'm gifing. completely up to you how you edit it & crop it in this respect (to each their own and all that). once you have the b/w gif done, convert it to a smart object and duplicate the layer, *then you can move onto step two.
since it was from the aforementioned gif set,
i'll be using this as my example for this.
step two: i take the b/w version of the above gif & i slap a photo filter over top and ramp up the vibrancy exponentially (depending on what colour i'm aiming for). i use a colour balance adjustment over top to enhance whatever i'm trying to do (truly depends on the colour, like always, but i will almost assuredly use colour balance in everything with colour).
this is the same gif above, but with a photo filter adjustment ("deep red") and then a vibrancy adjustment (upped to 100% with both sliders).
that same gif, but now with the colour balance applied (using only the red sliders in each section and (green?) in the 'hightlights' section of colour balance):
now turn that also into a smart object (use the duplicated b/w smart object for this and save the original b/w smart object for final use).
step three: shift the colour version of your gif down exactly 1 pixel & to the right one pixel & set the filter setting for the layer to "Pin Light" and you will get what you are looking for (as seen below) (also this gif is without lowering the opacity etc on the colour version of the gif once using Pin Light, it's just dependent on the vibrancy and what you're going for when you do the shift, cause some things look better for a lowered opacity etc).
that's all. it's truly up to you how you wanna apply the colour vibrancy and all that and how you firmly apply it. i'll typically use a layer mask once i'm done to do some clean-up (showing what i mean by this below this - a very lazy version of what i mean >.> but still lol).

*if you're worried about scene choices+matching for this, you don't have to. this works with pretty much anything it terms of it's application. i have yet to really encounter something it wouldn't work on & if i do, i'll rework this particular post to include that. but for now, this is good for anything you wanna slap it on.

it mostly just shows up on here bc it's not really of interest outside of fandom circles like i don't think there's bound to be any articles or books mentioning it bc the average beatle fan truly would not give more than 2 fucks about it, but that might change with the new ian leslie book bc i know he has a bit on "if i fell" in there and i wouldn't be shocked if it was mentioned

Autograph manuscript for "If I Fell", from "A Hard Days Night", aboard a U.S airline, c. late February, 1963. Written on the back of a valentine which had been given to Paul, and which was apparently the only suitable writing surface available at 30,000 feet, the manuscript is 1 page, written on the verso of the unfolded valentine on one half of the sheet, approximately 11 1/2 x 6 in. "If I Fell" is one of John's most powerfully poignant ballads, and one of the most important and early songs to appear at auction. Ostensibly written while the Beatles were in America for a famous appearance on the Ed Sullivan show, John, sitting in the plane seat next to Paul suddenly got the inspiration for one of the best songs which would be released on 1964's landmark "A Hard Days Night." By the cadence and subtleties of the lyrics you can tell that John already has the music in his head as he fits it with the perfect words. Time stands still, something very special is coming to life as he sits working on the back of Paul's valentine.
where they got any of that story, i have no idea, so the story itself i'm taking with a grain of salt buuuut you can flip & zoom in on the dedication and see that it says "to paul with love" with either a bunch of hearts (which is what i initially assumed) or x's for kisses
(which is, btw, the best and only quality you can find of this unfortunately, but last year i did my best to trace over it so it's easier to see)
to me the handwriting very clearly matches john's, especially if you look at the lyrics themselves or other samples of his handwriting, but it's not 100% confirmed to be john's handwriting on the dedication. it could've been a fan's! or john making a lil joke. or him being serious. that part's murky. but it Is addressed to paul
Hi! I saw your post where you mentioned that your patch edits were testing the waters for if you could add more of your personal written scripts, but you haven't heard much feedback on that. Let me then say YES YOU MAY. I loved your edits, like the way in which you allow the checks to be done by Lee instead! It was witty, funny and in character, and I'd love to have a playthrough with more of your touch. I also love Lee, and it gave me even more of an appreciation for her, and it would make my day(s) if future patch edits would allow me to do the same with the other OL characters 🤗

It's still true that I haven't had much feedback. I feel like I have a lot of followers but I'm not quite sure what everyone wants as a whole?
Obviously, I can answer most questions about the first Our Life, but that's situational since that requires being sent asks. I feel like I've dug into a lot of the bigger things people care about with the code as well, such as the mechanics behind Cove changing, so anything further would have to be something wild like "here is literally every single variation/possibility in [insert moment here]."
I have my MC, but probably 0% of my audience actually followed me to hear about Cho (/not derogatory, just an observation), and I'm entirely neutral on whether I make stuff about her privately or publicly. I just like to post content that makes people happy, so it's dependent on that~ c:
Then last but not least is obviously my personal modifications extending beyond my patched version; not quality of life stuff, not fixes, just actual additions to the game that I've either always wanted or thought made sense. Definitely if I were to drop anything first, it'd probably be Shopping since I more than doubled the length of that script and think it'd be a hypothetically "worthy" choice. I'm still a little shy at the idea, but I get closer to wanting to release my stuff the more I hear people wanting it.

OVERALL: to paraphrase What Your Favorite Marvel (Avengers) Ship Says About You, an old silly video from Eldena Doublecast i love, i'm 'a firm believer of the inherent eroticism of shared trauma'. the video is about MCU ships but it works for any iteration of Buckynat imo. they are TOP TIER. S TIER even 😍
i don't trust a queer person that dislikes Buckynat, or at least doesn't respect it. i know everybody is tired of heteronormativity but at some point you just hate Romance™️ (and Women™️ 👀)

COMICS: they are an underrated couple in Marvel Comics imo. it should be in the List of Big (Canon) Ships like PeterMJ and JeanScott SueReed etc. sure, it's not as old as them, but it has the potential to be a flagship Marvel romance. it just has... so much emotional gravitas? i love my silly wholesome romances but the angst and motifs here are *chef's kiss*
talking about angst, thank the lord they are back together in the comics after years apart. it was especially frustrating because Natasha's amnesia plot was introduced to reunite them in grand fashion and then... nothing of substance really ever happened for years on end! 😡

but it was a complete waste of potential. and like, it would have made the movies stronger, more cohesive? the seeds were there. Natasha knew about the Winter Soldier, have met him and survived an encounter with him (and the WS leaves no witnesses!). she was the deuteragonist of CATWS anyway, wouldn't it make sense for all the stakes of the movie (the fall of SHIELD, Bucky) to be personal for her too? 😒 ughhhh
