Frost coated the tips of the blades of grass growing in the field, dimming their color and crunching under Betty's shoes. The weak sunlight did little to ward away the cold, and Betty was thankful for the thick coat she was wearing as she lined her croquet mallet up with the orange ball.
"How've you been doing with the weather?" She stalled awkwardly as she took a few steps back from the ball, trying to make sure her aim was perfect. That was never too much of an issue when Betty played, and she wanted to keep it that way. Even if she often misjudged the power, at least she could visualize angles.
She just had to hit the ball. She nearly closed her eyes as she tapped it. That can't have been enough power. She didn't want to look, but...
"So close!"
Betty let out an awkward laugh as her ball rolled into the first hoop, stopping just before it went all the way through. Unfortunate though it was, she really wasn't all that good at croquet, so getting 'so close' on just her second shot of the game was something worth celebrating for her, even if it would be pretty lame to be open about that feeling. Betty had to act casual.
"Your turn!"

Going back was scary. She had been away for a whole summer, and she knew things had changed. They had to have changed. Would her friends still feel the same about her? Would her family still feel the same about her? She wondered if Mina had found a new best friend. Probably. But, who could blame her? Dominique had been away in Romania for an entire summer, no owls, no nothing from her had been sent to anyone in her family. She felt awful for that, but after everything that had happened the past year, she wanted to just get away from everything. She still thought about Teddy, and she still hated the fact that her parents were seperated, but she was slowly healing and getting over everything.
It felt weird to be going back. She was now entering her sixth year at Hogwarts. Just this year and one more to go and she would be out of there forever. She still had no clue what she wanted to do for the rest of her life, but she had two years to figure it out, so she decided that she was okay.
As she sat, alone, on the train back to London, she thought about her brother and her sister. Had they even noticed she was gone? What was going on with them now? Was Vici even living at home still? She was so scared, so nervous and anxious to get home. Maybe she shouldn't be going home. She could always transfer to Beauxbatons, like her mother wished. She could live with Grand-mere and Grand-pere, they would like that. Maybe she didn't belong back home anymore. Had her friends or family even missed her? Who would? She was a stuck up, spoiled brat, that walked around like she owned the place. She had been so horrible to her family back then, but that wasn't who she was anymore.
As the train pulled into King's Cross station, Domi wondered if anyone would even be there to pick her up. She picked her back up from the seat and once the train came to a stop and it was time to get off, she took in a deep breath and mentally prepared herself.
She was home, but would things still be the same? As she stepped off the platform, she quickly searched the crowd for familiar faces.
Say you'll never leave || Brett & Cass
Cass had quite the past few days. She was working on a song, one that she would surprise Brett with at their show that upcoming weekend, and she was stressed about getting it done in time. She had been stressing about meeting people, about a girl she was worried Brett was still head over heals in love with, and she was most of all just stressing over the fact that she was showing any girl type emotion in general. So as she pulled a jacket over her tee shirt and jeans, she left her room and headed down to the first floor, where the boys lived. She scanned the doors quickly, stopping when she came upon Brett's. Her knock was soft, and her eyes were focused on her worn out vans as she waited for the door to open.
Bite My Tongue || Skyler & Cass
Cass slipped on her black leather jacket as she locked her room up, She headed down the hallway, looking at all the names on the doors, looking for Skyler's. She had spent her thanksgiving in her room, sleeping, watching old movies, and playing old school mario. She had been waiting for Brett to get ahold of her, but alas, he never did. When she finally found the door, she knocked and stood outside it. "Skylerrr!!! Hurry your tiny ass up!"
