There’s been an absolute heatwave where I live for the past week which is making doing anything but coming home from work and crying from the heat impossible 😭😭

I love your hadestown AU so much. Present Wukong self-sabotage KING, he is throwing himself under the bus for his own insecurities and his inability to let go. He is reconciling with his Macaque…the other Wukong though??? HE CAN DIE IN A HOLE FOR ALL HE CARES!!!

He knows he is setting past Wukong for failure, HE KNOWS, and he said “nah f that guy”

UGHHH THANK YOU!!! I’m still working out the detailsss. BUT here’s some of my ideassss

Ok so when wukong fought macaque he didn’t realize he actually killed him cuz yk he’s supposed to be immortal! So he just thought he left him injured but for “reasons” macaque wasn’t immortal and did die. So when wukong returns to FFM after the journey he expects macaque to be there albeit very pissed off at him. But he ISNT cuz he’s dead ^^

So then like he obvs wants to get him back! This is were I think he’d meet Xiangliu when he was pretending to be one of ten kings (xiangliu basically being the role of hermes in like wait for me etc)

Everything kinda plays out mostly the same as the musical from there except present Shadowpeach isn’t acting as hades and Persephone in the past. Past wukong IS going against the ten kings to convince them… which… he mostly does.. they let him leave with macaque but only his shadow will follow until he ACTUALLY makes it out. Which obvsly he DOESNT and he does look back and macaques shadow Dissipates and wukong has failed… and he carries that guilt and failure all the way to the present..

however macaque never knew wukong ever even ATTEMPTED to get him back since he was yk dead the whole time.

So I was thinking like maybe present Shadowpeach is watching through the scroll of memory or something similar and since present Shadowpeach has slowly been reconciling, when macaque learns that wukong did care to go to the UNDERWORLD in an attempt to save him. Macaque feels sympathetic to past wukong now that he’s seeing him in a new light.

Meanwhile present wukong feels disgusted and hates his past self for his failure and for being the cause in the first place.. and it’s just a cycle that repeats and repeats…

At least those are most of the ideas I gave rn!!! Nothing 100% yet!!! I’m glad you like it I’m sooo obsessed with hadestown AND Shadowpeach rn haha
