Four original typescripts of poems by Jim Morrison, used by Morrison and with his handwritten annotations. These poems, titled Power, Cassandra at The Well, Bitter winter, and Like our ancestors were published posthumously in the 1989 book Wilderness: The Lost Writings of Jim Morrison, Vol. 1.

Morrison never typed his own manuscripts or letters; he would write them in longhand and one of the two women who worked at the Doors office in Hollywood would type the pages for him. These four poems were typed in preparation for his reading at Village Recorders, December 7, 1970 (his 27th birthday,) probably by Doors secretary Katherine Lisciandro.

Morrison has written the title Cassandra at The Well on the relevant page, crossing out the typed title. In Like our ancestors, Morrison has inserted a carat (an editing mark) in the fifth line. In the last line of Bitter winter, he has corrected a typo in the last line. There is no handwriting on Power.
