It has been a rough year.
Actually, that’s an understatement. And it seems to have been that way for pretty much everybody I know everywhere all year. There’s no need to make a list of the things that sucked; pretty much everything imaginable that one never wants to occur to them has probably happened this year to someone. Every little bit counts.
A lot of the time it seems like life gives one a break for a few seconds and makes things look like they will be hunky-dory again before the jerk turns around and sucker-punches us in the -insert physical outlet of pain here-. But you know what? We have survived through 2016 and I think that’s quite an achievement. Maybe you feel like you didn’t accomplish that much this year, which I’ve certainly felt like before. But you did accomplish something. You made it through 2016, and 2017 is just around the corner. That deserves a medal in itself.
With any luck everybody can actually kick back and relax within these next few days until the official New Year (I’m not counting the various other New Year’s celebrations because I must admit to a lack of knowledge on them). Everyone is hoping that next year will be better. I think that it can be.
I remember that everyone hoped that 2016 would be promising and how much everyone was let down just within the first few months and that all of us are questioning whether 2017 might actually be worse. We’ll just have to wait and see.
If it becomes another one of those years... life is gonna have a number of people knocking at its door and demanding their proper lives back.
But I digress. Please take care of yourself and others as this year closes. I know the holidays can be both the most lovely and fun time of the year as well as a time of grieving over any number of atrocities against us that occur during this time.
I wish for the best for those of us who fight the good fight (life against us), and wish for a nurturing of a new and unstoppable spirit of unity among the righteous. I hope we shall all be successful in our good endeavors and that we find happiness in the next year within each other and ourselves.
On the flip side of the coin, it must be kept in mind that action is key. To change the course of our life, one must not only wish for better but also work for it. I hope we can all find the means to do this.
Have a good rest of the year, everyone. Thank you.
