I’m sorry it took me so long because I wanted to make Inugami a little bit happier all this time but I couldn’t find right words. I kind of don’t have them even now and I’m sorry;;. I hope you’ll enjoy this rough sketch of a story.
OOC, maybe?
Sakurajima was a complete different place. An unknown world to those from the mainland. Unique, distant and —
“Comfortable?” Inugami’s soft voice came right from behind and it made B-52 flinch a little. He still wasn’t used to being among Fallen Angels. Or, to be precise, he wasn’t used toeing with them on friendly terms, not attacking to defend himself or his Master Attendant.
“Do you feel comfortable here?” She asked again in still soft but more loud tone.
“…” B-52 sighed quietly. Truly, Sakurajima was a unique place. No one here has been looking at him with a pity or extreme curiosity that was too obvious to go unnoticed. In Sakurajima, although he wasn’t treated exactly like a human, B-52 was treated as an equal. Not only by his dear friend, Master Attendant and his fellow comrades but everyone be it another Food Soul, Fallen Angel or living humans.
Surely, it was comfortable. Almost too much for him to be able to accept this as his reality.
“Thank you for you hospitality, Miss Inugami. We— I appreciate that.” B-52 answered with a short bow.
Reserved as always. Inugami came to his side and sighed. “You don’t need to be so stiff around us, you know.”
“I’m not stiff around you. I’m just not used to… this kind of circumstances.”
A light touch on a shoulder, just as her voice earlier, caused B-52 to flinch. Was he nervous, perhaps?
“It’s okay. After all, you’ve been used for doing a completely opposite for a long time.” Inugami hummed quietly, pausing for a moment. “Say, what do you think about staying here?”
The proposition looked tempting. He, who wanted to be seen as an ordinary human, could be seen as a free person here, like other Food Souls not bound by the contract who were living for themselves only.
“B-52, here you’re!”
But, for a certain reason, he couldn’t.
“I… still have things I need to do and a duty to finish." The answer came out with a cracked voice as B-52 saw his Master Attendant waving to him with a soft smile. As always, loyal Steak was beside her.
Inugami looked at the same direction with another "hum”. Clearly, this Food Soul was still bound to his Master by ties unseen.
“I see.” She sighed then, lowering her head. “Well, you can always think about it. About a place you want to belong in the end.”
“.. I will.”
