UBER IN CAPE TOWN
Uber is actually like a public transport in Cape Town. At least for foreigners. I used public buses few times from the beginning, but Uber is very cheap and it´s so comfortable to take car directly from your house.
Especial during the night, it´s nothing special to call the car just for 300 meters ride. Drivers are not very happy about it, but they usually take you anyway. For safety reasons, it´s definitely better than walk. Because it´s so easy to call Uber, I actually never tried normal Taxi, so I can´t say anything about it.
Also, public buses are quite solid here. You just have to get your Myciti card in one of the sell points, put some money on it and here you are. To find closest bus stop you can easily use Google maps, where you can also see directions and timetables, which is very useful.
The thing is, since I tried Uber, I didn´t use the bus again. During the day, I am walking anyway, since it´s not far to the city centre and coworking from my accommodation in Taboerskloof.
More about good places to live in another post.
