hi !! was wondering if you had any ucat tips or methods that helped you, im taking mine in two weeks and were not improving and yikes its getting worse and im panicking so if you had any advice? id love to hear it :)
Hello! Of course :)
I think it varies depending on person to person anyway, but for me I used medify ++ I think by the end doing two tests a day with a break in between just as many as possible. I also did the ucat practice tests (altho always did worse on those, my best one of those was the most representative overall score compared to test day).
Because the test isn't marked negatively + the time limits, when it got close to the test it helped me more to focus on what I was good+bad at rather than just answering everything. For example, the horrifically longwinded QR questions or the graph-based y/n DM ones were ones I more often than not got wrong so I only ever answered them if I had time to go back to them. Basically, just flag as much as you need.
Also, take SJ seriously because a lot of schools cut off applicants if they get a low band. That being said if the average of the other four is lower it makes more sense to get them up as long as you take into account possibly only applying to schools that ignore SJ banding (I think there's only a few).
I found QR and AR easier on test day, and from searching online I think that is quite common. I wouldn't rely on it but I think it's helpful to calm your nerves on those sections.
Overall I would say not to worry though because a lot changes in the two weeks before the exam. The main things for me were to stay positive and make sure to take breaks when you need them. Don't burn yourself out in the next week doing too much in a day. It sounds silly but I would listen to music when I wasn't studying that hyped me up lol. Just a little confidence boost and fun to sing along to also. And I planned to meet with my friend after my test for dinner+drinks to celebrate/commiserate so I had something else to look forward to after all the studying also.
This is just what worked for me but I hope it helps - Good luck with your test!! I hope you smash it 😊
