First I just want to say thank you for all the birthday wishes everyone, I've never been a birthday celebrating kind've guy but I'm going to make an exception this one year because I've been sluffing on my music game a lot.
This new song I got to let you guys preview a couple of months back, 21, I wrote and recorded the night I turned 21. At first when I was writing this it really didn't mean anything at the time besides the fact that I was turning 21 and I thought I should release something that day.
This is one of those tracks that came together almost out of the blue with no premeditated efforts, I called up Troy Safotu Violet Crichton Freda Crichton and told them I had this idea for a song about turning 21 and that same exact night we got together and in about 4 hours we recorded the whole track.
At first I thought I was going to release this track the morning of my birthday but as fate would have it, it would be unprecedentedly delayed for the next YEAR! For excuses I don't want to say because I don't like excuses, I'm just glad its finally out.
Some of you might know I've been busy working on my debut album and this is one of the songs from that album. As I was saying earlier this song didn't have as much meaning to me at first, but this last year and a half made that statement very untrue with the loss of family and friends.
I'm 22 now and I'm very blessed to be breathing and still able to do what I love most. Today was the day that I gifted life and its only appropriate that I give right back.
If you couldn't get me a gift for my birthday today but wanted to, do me a favor and share this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHd6BN_KFr4&hd=1 but even more then that I want you to tell your family that you love them.
Huge shout out again to Uce Wayne, Violet & Freda. I couldn't have done this without you guys.
