Included in current gallery exhibition is a print from Pablo Picasso's Six Signed Proofs of Original Etchings Made to Illustrate an Edition of Aristophanes’ Lysistrata Published by the Limited Editions Club, New York: New York Print Club, 1934. Rare Book Collection, Gift of Harold Swift.  In the background is a hint of Jazz, by Henri Matisse!

I’m thrilled to be a teaching artist with CoCre8 this spring! Last week, I got to collaborate with two teachers, a teen, and a baby to make a creative response to a Chicago Dance Crash piece. This photo shows part of what happened.

CoCre8 is an experimental model of collaborative arts education that brings together a cohort of teachers, teens, teaching artists, and arts administrators to look at, talk about, and make art. CoCre8 is a collaboration between Urban Gateways and UChicago’s Smart Museum of Art, Arts + Public Life, and Logan Center for the Arts. Stay tuned for our final show on June 30!

So proud of the work we've done this year as the 2016-17 Interpreters in Residence: The Belonging Collective at the Smart Museum of Art.

Join us at our culminating event, “Making a Place of Purpose, A Collection of Small Actions,” on Saturday, May 20, to consider and enact how cultural spaces can cultivate senses of belonging and purpose. Free and open to the public.

I'll be leading a reflective activity called "Interpreting Experience" and much else is in store from the other collective members and our magnificent invited guests. Hope to see y'all there!
