Is this.. really.. the right thing to do?

He ignored the voices, tearing through both soft and muscled flesh alike with his one katana. Of course it was. What else could it be? Another slash, another splash and another splatter of blood against his body and blade. He barely saw the face, but the stature was small and the salty smell of tears were fresh on his sensitive nose.

It was only a child..

He narrowed his eyes in denial. If anything, it was a mercy killing. The death was nice and quick–as usual–and the child wouldn’t have to suffer in a world like this anymore. A dark world like this. 

Sooner than later, the dirt and grass were gone. They were covered in the corpses of this small civilian village: The corpses of withered elders, of hard working parents, and of innocent children. The lilies that surrounded cheery flower shops were stained red, and silhouettes of limp bodies through broken windows affirmed the fact that this was now a dead village, both inside and out.

It didn’t make much more than a single ninja to erase a village of civilians. It was his mission, so it was his duty, thus he had no place for sympathy. It was the right thing to do.

The scene vividly played before him in a circles, not a single detail forgotten until he deactivated his dōjutsu. The voices became clear:

Is this ‘mercy’? Really?

His hands were dirty. They were covered in deep red, and they stunk of iron. Drops fell onto his shoes as he averted his blank gaze to the orange skies of afternoon, just before dusk. 

He did call it a mercy-killing, didn’t he? Hm.

Past the blowing wind, a strained whimper just barely reached his ears, and his eyes relighted themselves bright red, shifting to locate the source.

It was the boy from before, sprawled out above his mother’s body, eyes wide and watery, terrified bright blue saucers. The tendons in his neck were visible through the gore, but his chest still heaved and his body racked with great effort– for what? To live?

It was a shame then, that he saw so much, that the innocence in his gaze was stolen for naught.

Shining and covered in blood, Hikaku’s weapon rose above the child’s torso, the Uchiha’s chocolate eyes as blank as before as his lips molded murmured the words: “I’m sorry.”

– right as the blade burst out of the boy’s back.

Yes, this is definitely mercy.

Storm

-- He exhales softly, glancing down at his chocolate milkshake. Ignoring the cherry blossoms that are undoubtedly landing in his hair, he keeps his eyes on his glass. It’s like the petals are trying to land in his treat. In hindsight, choosing to have a picnic under the cherry blossom trees might not have been his best idea. Still, a break is nice every once in a while, yes? Golden rays break through the branches and flowers, causing patches of light to land on their heads. It’s all so calm.

Hikaku lifts the straw to his lips, taking a sip-- and nearly coughs it all up at the revelation that it’s better than anything he’s capable of making. He glances to the figure at his side. I’ve been beaten by a child.

“Who taught you how to make these, Suengri?”

What’s something you really hate seeing on your dash that seems to be popular with almost everyone else?

Questions often left unanswered | Accepting 

I really have no response for this fandom? Back in a previous fandom, when it was still new- the people were really into... gorey stuff. They would roleplay a lot of murder, torture, rape, and assaults- which I disliked a ton and it was really popular. Thankfully it did calm down after a few months and actually, I haven’t seen any since then. I haven’t had an issue with the Naruto fandom, so yeah!
