can you talk more abt uchioso please? what is their dynamic like... are they really sweet and close with each other or do they have really messy and complex drama... i want to learn more about them
I'm actually kind of embarrassed to talk about my interpretations of ships, especially because I can't express myself very well at all, but I'll give it a try 🥹
I discovered this ship right here, and it's one of the craziest rarepair I've ever seen, especially considering Uchikawa is only in the movie for at least 5 minutes.
And it made me think a lot about how disappointed I was that the Matsuno brothers are NEETs. I mean, okay, they lied to you, but was the public humiliation really necessary? Like, man, it's not like it affects your life or anything, lolll
Since I had thought about Uchioso and watched the movie again, I tried to explain that scene based on the ship...
So, my hc is this: young Uchikawa was in love with Osomatsu, which embarrasses him because, as we know, Osomatsu is one of the worst of the sextuplets. This ignites Uchikawa's anger as he cannot forget him and tries to hate him to avoid those feelings. I wouldn't say it's internalized homophobia, since I personally believe that Uchikawa wouldn't mind dating a man as long as that man wasn't Osomatsu.
Uchikawa is very open to interpretation because of how little we know about him, but I really like him. I feel like he's a guy who really had his goals set for the end of the year at Akatsuka High School, and Osomatsu wasn't part of that plan. I like to think that he grew up imagining what the Matsuno brothers would become—that they would be decent people, educated or working. He hopes to be able to talk to Osomatsu again after a few years and tell him about his silly crush now that they're both responsible adults who can laugh about it, about the past. But of course, Osomatsu didn't change at all, and he ended up being worse than he expected.
Although I'm thinking of explaining this better in my comic, mehh...
From Osomatsu's perspective, I really don't think he ever thought of Uchikawa that way. In fact, he'd barely remember him if I'm honest.
Maybe it was a one-sided thing when they were young, but now that they're adults, I feel like it's something he wouldn't process at the time, something like in the episode where Nyan-chan was in love with him.
Let's say that in this case, Osomatsu and Uchikawa decide to give it a try. Uchikawa is still somewhat embarrassed by this, but he's an adult; nobody cares about his life anymore, unlike the reputation he had in high school. I don't think Osomatsu loves him the same way at first, but of course, over time he gets to know Uchikawa better and begins to love him, even though that requires years of patience on Uchikawa's part.
For me, Uchikawa is more romantic. I mean, he seems like a nice guy who wouldn't mind saying or doing sweet things for the person he loves. But of course, Osomatsu is a real personal challenge—trying to say something sweet to him and not wanting to break up with him at the same time. But it doesn't bother him too much. I feel like there are things about Osomatsu that annoy him, but then he remembers them and laughs about them. I feel like he thinks about how boring his life would be if he'd never fallen in love with him, and that makes him cling to him even more. Meanwhile, Osomatsu is just happy being Osomatsu, but at least he has someone by his side who loves that about him.
I'm not very good at explaining the dynamics or my headcanons, but I hope this isn't too cringe for you guys. It's my first time talking about something like this in public and I'm a little embarrassed. (and I'm also sorry if my English isn't the best) 😭😭
I want to clarify that this is my interpretation, and you can always have your own!!!! Yayyy
