What Are the Odds For UFC 187's Biggest Fights?
UFC 187 will take place on May 23 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. There are a number of big matches to catch in this pay-per-view event and here are a few of the odds for some of the biggest ones.
Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson will be competing in the main event to go after the Light Heavyweight title. Cormier is the -145 favorite in the odds from SBG Global while Johnson is at +105. Cormier has a 15-1 record and has some of the fastest strikes in the weight class. Meanwhile, Rumble Johnson has a 19-4 record and is a talented knockout artist who has a strong takedown rate and is also very defensive on the takedowns.
Chris Weidman will be defending his Middleweight title against Brazil's Vitor Belfort. There is a substantial difference in their records as Weidman is 12-0 while Belfort is 24-10. This helps to give Weidman a -450 line while Belfort is only at +325. Weidman has particularly been popular for being a proficient all-around fighter.
Khabib Nurmagomedov has a -240 line and a 22-0 record in the Lightweight division. The Eagle is the #2 ranked fighter in this class and will be taking on the fighter right below him, the 27-6 fighter Donald Cerrone. Cerrone has +190 odds and has been noted for being a prominent submission artist.
There will be a heavyweight bout in the undercard as 17-2-1 Travis Browne and 23-10 Andrei Arlovski will take to the octagon. Brown has a -400 record while Pit Bull Arlovski is at +300. Both fighters are nearly identical in the striking category and have both focused on knockouts over all other attacks.
Joseph Benavidez has a -500 line in his fight with John Moraga, who is only listed at +350. This flyweight fight features Benavidez with a 21-4 record while Moraga is listed at 16-3. Neither fighter is ranked in the UFC's official flyweight listings but they are both hoping to climb up the ladder in this match.
