Lecturers and Students of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP), Japanese Language Education Study Program, Muhammadiyah University Prof. Dr. HAMKA (Uhamka) conducted community service at Budhi Warman 1 High School Jakarta in an effort to introduce Japanese dubbing with the theme Japanese Dubbing Training at Budhi Warman 1 High School Jakarta in practicing college dharma chess.
This event was also attended by the Lecturers of Japanese Language and Literature Education of FKIP Uhamka namely Yuni Masrokhah, Nia Septiany, Ana Natalia, Ayu Putri Seruni, Lecturer of Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PBSI) of FKIP Uhamka namely Abdul Latif, Japanese language education student, Dita Hafifah is practicing Japanese language teacher and high school students Budhi Warman 1 Monday (9/1).
The training session was started and opened with remarks from the Lecturer of Japanese Language Education FKIP Uhamka, namely Yuni Masrokhah who is also the head of community service. He said that dubbing is usually done in movies, comics, and anime and several things that need to be considered in dubbing include facial expressions, intonation, pronunciation, and pauses.
"This dubbing activity can be carried out in the realm of films, comics, and also anime. In addition, in this dubbing, what needs to be considered are expressions, intonation, pronunciation and pauses," said Yuni.
Dubbing which is also called dubbing or dubbing which in English is called dubbing and in Japanese is called Seiyuu which means the process of recording or replacing the voice for a character.
In the dubbing training there are several sessions, the first of which begins with the provision of material entitled "Japanese Dubbing Training at Budhi Warman 1 Jakarta High School" conducted by Japanese language education students in whose presentation some knowledge about dubbing is explained, then examples of dubbing activities are given, after given an example the students were asked to practice dubbing with a conversation using the text that had been prepared in the displayed PowerPoint (PPT).
In the dubbing practice, the students were able to take part in the training smoothly, apart from that the students who did the practice were also given souvenirs in the form of key chains. On the other hand, there are 4 sessions in the activity of giving examples and practicing dubbing. In the last session, there was a screening of a film made through a comic adaptation entitled Teen Bride which was directed by Shafa Zahra Annisa as a Japanese language education student.
Redi Rudiana as the Principal of SMA Budhi Warman 1 Jakarta responded positively to the training program distributed by Uhamka Lecturers to SMA Budhi Warman 1 Jakarta.
"Whatever it is, the learning process and additional learning from teachers at school, moreover this is from the campus where it is certain that our children will get new learning and experiences so that they will learn about the world of dubbing and other new things," said Redi.
Redi also hopes that in the future he will be more thorough in providing training programs so that all Budhi Warman 1 Jakarta students will get new learning and experiences that they can apply in their daily lives.
On the other hand, Nia Setiani as a Lecturer in Japanese Language Education FKIP Uhamka added that anyone can practice dubbing on their own through short clips that can be found on several websites. Thus, he hopes that the dubbing training can continue to be preserved and developed by the students, especially at SMA Budhi Warman 1 Jakarta to increase their skills.
"Hopefully in the dubbing training that has been carried out, you can practice it yourself to become a new skill for you, and I hope that later we will meet again and you can participate again through other Japanese language study programs," hoped Nia.
