So, one of the big union groups (UNAC/UHCP, currently 31,000+ employees) working at THE biggest healthcare provider in CA (Kaiser Permanente, it's Kaiser Permanente) is now in their 3rd week of the indefinite strike started because Kaiser refuses to show up to the bargaining table and has been refusing since December (for those of you playing at home, it's now fucking February).
In October 2025, when the same union went on a week long strike because of the insultingly terrible offers from Kaiser, an ER physician at Kaiser called his striking colleagues "parasites" and were "dumb" for demanding safer staffing (federally mandated staffing!!!) and that KP's C-suite are not only working to back out of the unions but are actively working to replace all union staff with non-union contractors.
This came out in public via this post.
