its actually annoying how when talk about disability comes up, everyone forgets to like. include mental disabilities? like my body also sucks (no diagnosis for why, no one can figure out why my back is Like That) and that does keep me from work too but i also have lifelong mental health issues that have not gotten measurably better in 20 years of treatment like.
i realistically will never be able to consistently work to the point that i need to in order to support myself. like i have a lifelong exemption from stuff like jury duty because my mental health is so shit. but my county is the hardest to get disability in, and despite being told that i had the worst case of mental illness my lawyer had ever seen while also having it WELL DOCUMENTED along with hospital stays for it , my white judge looked at my mexican ass and said i could do landscaping or maid work.
i cant! my body couldn't handle it. last time i worked, i consistently missed work because my back would get so fucked i couldnt move for days. but i have no leg to stand on with my physical stuff cuz technically, i have "nothing wrong with me"
but my mental issues should be enough? they keep me from working and living a normal life and even going to SCHOOL like. idk. its just annoying.
like really there are invisible disabilities yall (both physical and otherwise) so its wild that people seem to really only focus on the stuff that you can see at a glance.
