It’s ironic, really.
You follow them around, listen to them complain, do everything for them. They seem to care less about you. Only using you for their enjoyment, and to satisfy their needs. They’re mean, cruel, and… you can’t seem to leave. Because they were nice. They still are. They have to be. You don’t want to believe otherwise. You believe they’ll change, or that they just had a bad day. They leave you with scraps, beat you down into just the mere shell of what a human used to be. Then rebuild you into their version of you. They hurt you, and wonder why you act like this. But you just keep loving. They want to see how far they can push you, how long it’ll take until you snap. Because, well, if they’re being honest, they don’t think you will.
You loved them like a dog. And they betrayed you like a man.
