dear past me,

hey, i’m gonna be real with you here. you were kind of a jerk. glad you’ve pulled your act together by now, otherwise you’d be getting a reality check sooner than later (you always claimed that you could fight somebody but, to be honest? not even gonna answer that one). you were an insecure little kid, i get it, almost everybody goes through that phase, but don’t you worry. you’ll figure everything out sooner or later. you’ll settle into your own way of living and thinking, and you won’t even be bothered to care so much about what other people think of you. trust me, life gets better. it gets a lot better. don’t think too hard, just enjoy yourself, you’ll thank me for it later.

[ So i’ve finally stopped being a lazy bum and redid my plots page. There’s more than one plot this time haha. There are two threads that i’ve had going for awhile that are really helpful for Joohyuk’s development or we’ve talked about them, so I’ve just assigned those muses to that plot ]

Seulgi didn’t mean to accuse the tall man of leaving a mess in the common area late that night, and the man’s reaction to her question made her take a small step back. “I’m sorry,” she apologized with a quiet voice, her head hanging slightly. “It’s just that there was no one else here I could ask.” She needed the table to work on a school requirement, but unfortunately, the trash was occupying the space. “It’s okay, if it isn’t yours I’ll clean it up myself,” she said, while managing to give him an apologetic smile.

Jungshin feels a little stab in his chest at her apologetic voice, wondering if he was a tad bit defensive in his case. He really wasn’t the type to raise his voice or even feel easily offended, so as soon as she starts talking he interrupts with a rapid series of ‘No, No, No!’ as if telling her not to worry. “Really! Don’t worry. I’ll help you clean up anyway. I mean, someones gotta do it, and it’s not fair for you to do so on your own.” Already he’s gathering some of the mess into his arms, and transfers plates to the sink. “Did you need the table for something specific?”

“Is this yours?”

Bad timing. Bad timing was exactly what Jungshin had came across when he headed down to the kitchen at late hours for a drink of water. With a parched throat and no intentnion of sleeping soon, he walked into the kitchen with his sweat pants a little short as the band stopped at his calves. “Is what mine?” She had been referring to a mess that one of the other tenants had left, as residue and smears of food were left over the plates along with half filled cups of some sort of beverage. “This mess? I happen to be a very clean guy!” His hands are gesturing to his outfit for some reason. Maybe to show now signs of messiness? He wasn’t making sense. “But really, it’s not mine. I don’t mind cleaning it up though. We’ll get flies if we don’t.”

“Why are the lights flickering…”

The question imposed by the girl, causes Jonghyun to look her way right as his eyes cast up to watch the flickering of the light. Most likely the bulb was going out, but the dark atmosphere and eerie movie playing in the background from the tv the tenants shared, Jonghyun took it as an advantage to shift closer to the girl on the couch. Maybe she was getting scared? And luckily Jonghyun was there to offer a shoulder to lean on or maybe an arm to move around her. “I really don’t know...You seem to be shaking though..” It’s another excuse he uses, as he reaches for the blanket by his side and offers it to her so she could perhaps cover her lap or bundle herself into a warmth of safety.
