dear santa,

hey there, jolly ol’ pal. how’s it goin up there at the north pole? those elves of yours doing all that good slave labor for ya? i know i don’t really believe in you anymore but, hey, might as well write you something to get in the christmas spirit, am i right? that, and taehyung won’t stop talking about you this time of year. it’s pretty cute, not gonna lie, but i think he might actually be serious when he talks about you traveling the world and delivering presents to all the children. and speaking of taehyung, can you get him something really good for christmas? i just want him to be happy, and i know you’d be really good at that. not like i’m doubting my own skill or anything but, more is always better, right?

oh my GOD. i love you. like, for real i LOVE YOU. don’t tell taehyung i said that. okay but honestly? you’re the best. no joke, i listened to ‘eat’ for about 7 hours non-stop while i was at work one day, and i never even got tired of it! i just wish i could meet you, or even better, i wish i could actually be you. wouldn’t that be so cool?! me, zion.t. superstar. voice like honey. get all the ladies (don’t tell taehyung i said that either). ah, one day, i’ll have to see you live. i have to. i think my life would have been a waste if i die without seeing you live and in the flesh. wait for me!!

         finally, after spending his entire day out, the young boy by the name of jeon jungkook collapsed onto one of the couches of the commons. he can't even bring himself to walk up one flight of stairs into his own room. plus, nobody else was in the area, so he could just sit in peace. jungkook checked his phone for the time, groaning so loudly at the number on the screen; it was almost 10pm. he cursed his manager at work for giving him a morning and night shift, and he cursed his school for being so much work.

         he lay there like that, dazed, confused, lost in the world, and just plain tired. there were so many thoughts running through his mind, most of them troubling and a huge burden on his mentality. there was, however, always the one thing – or person, rather – who always knew just how to cheer him up. so jungkook quickly typed up a few messages, hoping and praying that this person was home, and still awake.

         < outgoing → lily prince > HEY. i just got home, are you busy?

         < outgoing → lily prince > if not, come downstairs and find me on the couch. i'm too lazy to go up. just wanna hang

        jungkook sighs and lets his eyes fall shut, just resting for a while. he could honestly fall asleep there, but the only thing keeping him awake was the excitement he felt about possibly getting to see his precious, sweet taehyung.

honestly, everywhere. when he’s on his way to school, bored at work, in his room with nothing to do... the only time he isn’t really on his phone is when he’s actually paying attention in class for once, or if he’s spending time with another person. he thinks it’s rude to just be whipping out your phone in the middle of conversation (unless it’s unbearably awkward, in which case he’ll do it just to have something to do).

Yoongi’s weekends usually consist of five-hour long naps and several occasions that involve grunting in frustration at an innocent page of his sketchbook. Today though, is markedly different, because Yoongi decides to tinker with his laptop and clean out the files collecting dust in its internal hard drive.  His laptop has been getting slower by the day, so he worries if he doesn’t do anything about it soon, it will give up on him and he’ll be inclined to go into a fetal position until someone brings his mother to Seoul all the way from Daegu. 

Dutifully he checks each and every file, deciding on which ones he deems necessary to be kept and the ones deserving to be thrown away. Several clicks and drags later, Yoongi starts to realize how tedious it is and how much he just wants to take that usual five-hour nap. He’s already cleared a number of gigabytes anyway, and he’s got time later tonight to resume. He’s just about to close everything and fold his laptop when he comes across a folder containing pictures of layouts he’d made for his digital arts class. He decides to browse the pictures, silently criticizing his own work. He wasn’t particularly bad, but he wasn’t a pro either. He was quite mediocre. A frown pulls on his lips as he highlights the folder and presses delete on his keyboard.

When he finally closes his laptop and lies down on his stomach, he sees his roommate Taehyung hunched over his desk. Out of curiosity, Yoongi cranes his neck a little bit to try and catch a glimpse of what the other was doing. He sees Taehyung’s laptop screen and a familiar computer program flashing on it. “Taehyung? You on Photoshop?” He mindlessly asks as he straightens up from his previous position.

         it had only been 14 hours since jungkook and taehyung had parted ways for the night (with much regret), and jungkook had been restless ever since. the entire night, he was tossing and turning, though the cause was nothing bad at all. it was just that he was so excited, so extremely happy with the direction his life had turned. taehyung was finally his, he didn't have to worry anymore.

         jungkook is sprawled out onto his bed, face up, with arms outstretched. it's the following saturday, only 10am. luckily, jungkook had the day off, having worked so many hours earlier in the week. he wondered if it would be too early to be calling for taehyung, if the other would still be fast asleep on such a lazy day. but the more he thought about it, the more ridiculous that seemed. of course taehyung would never be bothered by him. he'd even wake up at 3 in the morning for him– something that had been proven before.

         jungkook pulls out his phone from his pocket, debating whether he should call or text, before settling for the latter. just in case taehyung wasn't able to answer the phone.

         jungkook then pauses his flood of messages, to give taehyung a bit of a break, and to build the suspense. he snickered at the thought of taehyung having a heart attack, jumping straight out of his bed, and probably dropping his phone in the process. after a couple of minutes, jungkook decides that his beloved taehyung has had enough torture for one day, promptly typing up another text.

         jungkook was tired, exhausted, really, as he tossed and turned in his bed. he was so stressed out over his upcoming exams that he couldn't sleep a bit. no matter how worn out he would be, he just couldn't settle down. jungkook huffed, and sat up in his bed (making sure to not hit his head, much to the dismay of his roommate), tugging his pillow tight to his chest. if he couldn't at least sleep, he needed something to do. and so jeon jungkook wandered out of his room, and through the hallways of the sharehouse.

         after about twenty minutes of just wandering from floor to floor, jungkook somehow found himself up on the building's rooftop. it was cold, and jungkook felt a shiver pass through his body, but the night was still pleasant. the skies were clear, and there were about a million stars illuminating the streets – give or take a few. he could have sat up there alone, but he always preferred company, and it was starting to get damn cold. so jungkook did the only thing he could think to do: call somebody. and immediately, a certain somebody came to mind.

         the phone rang four times before he heard a deep, groggy voice on the other end, unable to even form words in his state. jungkook grinned from ear to ear.

         ❝ you, rooftop, now. no questions, just do it. and bring a blanket or two, it is freezing up here. ❞

         jungkook absolutely adored halloween. he loved fall in general, but halloween was such a fun time for the boy, who was a lover of the cold weather, over-hyped seasonal treats, and of course, the paranormal. he called himself a ghost enthusiast, not quite crazy enough to be one of those insane ghost hunters, but enough to appreciate a good horror film. and so he found himself at the most popular haunted house of the year, eyes scanning over its extravagant decorations.

         alongside jungkook was his dear friend, kim taehyung. they had done almost everything together in the past few weeks, and jungkook even started to feel a bit guilty about always leaving out his roommate. but he knew that jimin would just complain the whole time, if he even showed up to a haunted house. jimin wasn't the biggest fan of jungkook's love for spooky thrills.

         jungkook turned on his heels to face the other. they had agreed to show up in costume, and taehyung as a pirate was... cute. jungkook wasn't sure if he had meant to be cute, but he thought so nonetheless.

         ❝ looks pretty lame, right? hah. i didn't even need to be dared to come here. ❞ jungkook spoke with a confident grin on his face. ❝ what a joke, really. this is gonna be a piece of cake. there's no way i could get scared here. ❞

This isn’t the first time he’s seen the new tenant in the common area with his sketch book and even paint sets spread everywhere. Then, Joohyuk thought he could definitely create a bond with him when he saw the other covered in paint and at that moment he wanted to drop everything to approach the kid. 

Now he’s sitting on the edge of the sofa, watching the other scribble soft gray lines on paper, then erasing and wiping the pink shavings from the paper, only to start over again. And of course, Joohyuk is fascinated because he wants to see the final outcome, he wants to create art too. 

“So what will it look like in the end?” he asks, tilting his head to see the photo another way, “If I could draw that that, i’m sure this girl would notice me.” he crosses his legs on the sofa, speaking as if they knew each other for a few weeks, “I think she’s into art- I think? But I’m far from an artist, but if I watch you long enough maybe some of that talent will shift over to me. Like telepathy or something.”
