Well at the time of writing this, 20th of July 2025 at 20:15pm, the UK online safety act is set to go into place on the 25th of July and greatly limit the access to adult material to protect children. A noble Idea yes but mean I may loose access to Tumblr and Reddit as well as other websites as the act plans to go after AI so who knows how many sites that will impact with how big AI is now. This is my formal goodbye to Tumblr incase I'm banned from accessing it without giving them a picture of a legal ID. Same with Reddit. Hopefully me not giving over ID will just block me from certain Reddit forums that post only NSFW things and just stop me from using the message feature on Tumblr. I'd hate to loose all my likes and comments and posts and reblogs and everything else I've done on both sites since around mid 2023 and late 2024 respectively. I really, really want to keep using Reddit and Tumblr on my current accounts. But I just have to hope for the best as I really do not wish to lose any account on any website that could be effected.

Plus I'm unable to find any information as to if this will affect the webtoons app such as if they'll need me to provide an ID or not meaning I could be forced to suddenly loose access to multiple stories without warning and without knowing the conclusions or explanations to mysteries such as the Nevermore webtoon, my personal favourite, or the Everything is fine webtoon, another I enjoy, due to their depictions of mature themes and showing of blood/violence.

I'll schedule this post for the 24th, close to the 25th. Maybe a little earlier just to be safe, say a day or so. Atleast I have a holiday booked so I have some time to get over it if I am restricted in any way but like I said ideally I only get blocked from viewing strictly NSFW subs on Reddit and using the messaging feature on Tumblr or viewing certian hashtags and commenting on the webtoons app. That would be best. And I have two posts scheduled for later in the year so worst case scenario you'll get two more random bursts of life before I go silent forever haha. Don't think I'll be able to get over the webtoons one though. I gotta know how that all ends, plus it'll mean work breaks are way more boring haha.

Thanks a bunch to the UK government for keeping me barely informed of this so I found our from another Tumblr last night. And I really appreciate your lack of communication causing my Autistic ass to make myself sick from stressing all night and staying awake until 6am trying to figure out what will be affected and how. That was sarcasm by the way. But yeah. Hopefully this isn't goodbye and I'm not jinxing myself. I hope the petition people have set up to stop this works. If it does I'll delete this. Or leave it up. As some kinda reminder or something. I don't know. We'll see. Guess I just gotta pray and hope for the best. Tumblr and Reddit are the best. Plus webtoon. Hope to see ya on the other side.

Also a very very special mention to my mutuals, @raven-nerd4life @yaboiblitz and @mj-iza-writer as well as everyone else I follow, those who follow me or I have spoken to in any way, both on here and Reddit and Webtoons. You were all so wonderful and made this experience so much better. This website kept me connected to my communities and opened me up to more, including those I had no idea existed or knew very little about. I truly wish you all the very best I can.

And to those in the UK I also wish you the best. Regardless of if you give over a ID or not I just hope we can all use this website still. And I'm sorry this is happening to us.

Getting prison time for protesting against an important environmental issue is entirely unacceptable regardless of your view on how to go about addressing climate change. Getting the HIGHEST PRISON SENTENCE ever recorded for NONVIOLENT PROTEST is entirely unacceptable. They held a ZOOM CALL to call to action others to raise the alarm on climate change. Here's a personal rant so please scroll on but I need to vent. I've been trying to get my ADHD meds for months. Months. I've not been able to get it anywhere and my prescription expired (I forgot they expire which is awkward). The issue with it expiring means I need to have it reissued and normally on the NHS that's fine but on private that's another 60 quid to have to try and hope it comes back in stock. Essentially I paid 60 quid for a piece of paper.

I'd order it from the private medication company but it's 100 quid more on top of what is already EXPENSIVE (d@m America your system is broken). The thing is I need to use these consistently for three months to get them via NHS which has been nigh impossible with the whole stock issue.

I don't know if it's Brexit (fuck Brexit) or I heard there was a general issue with the stock meeting demand but I'm already frustrated with being driven to private healthcare (which I acknowledge I am privileged to be able to even do that) but having to constantly do the awkward shuffle in and out of pharmacies is exhausting.
