Ulabrand, Norway. This is a photo of a statue raised in the memory of Anders Jacob Johansen, a maritime pilot who lived from 1815 to 1881. Ula harbour was a lookout point for guiding ships who were entering the Oslo fjord. Ulabrand is now a symbol for good seamanship and the important service of ensuring safety at sea. The soul of Jacobsen now rests in Ula and reminds people of our strong relationship with and respect for the oceans.
