Top 30 TVXQ! / J*J Songs
TVXQ - my OG ults, the first k-pop group I ever heard, and I didn't even know it. Doushite was a huge hit during my first summer in Japan in 2008, so I assumed they were a j-pop group. Years later in 2011, I heard Tonight and Bolero and thought they could sing better than any group I’d listened to since the 1990s. I also found out they were Korean, and that k-pop was a thing. Rising Sun was when I knew they were my favorite group – they managed to turn what should be a complete mess into (imo) THE gold standard of k-pop. Now, around the same time, I also found out about the split - initially a massive disappointment - but as I listened to DB2K, JYJ, and their solo material (especially Xia Junsu's), I realized these artists were special. No matter the management or group configuration, they could sing and perform better than anyone else, and that's what the people remember. Also they're still the most handsome men in music (sorry I don’t make the rules).
