Ahh, it was that kind of sadness. Arguably, Titan knew of that kind of anguish all too well. But nobody should ever know, let alone experience, even a moment of that inner torment.
"Well... What about all of us? I understand distancing yourself away from everybody. You're afraid to lose them... like you lost the person that mattered most to you."
Taking a seat next to the hedgehog, he put a gloved hand over Ebony's own, hopefully not invading his personal space as a result.
"All of us see you as a friend... maybe some see you as a rival, too, but a friend nonetheless. Sure, it's not perfect. Sure, it's not the person who you loved. But even still... it's there for you when you need it. Sometimes, that's gotta be enough, you know?"
The echidna's expression then grew a bit more forlorn as he continued to speak.
"If it means anything... I know that feeling all too well, missing and anguishing over the people you care about. I've watched over Angel Island for a considerable chunk of my life, alone. But I keep alive the memory of my people. Admittedly... it's been way too quiet. Even if I find frustration from would-be looters or disrespectful folk like Rouge and Sonic... they're the closest thing to family that I've got, and they're there for you too, Ebony."
